A Summer Day Tea Time

Hello everyone,
We are having a perfectly beautiful sunny summer day today so I want to make the most of it but I wanted to share a cup of tea with you first.
I choose this spot on the veranda because the Miss Kim lilac is blooming right by the screened porch and it has a beautiful fragrance for us to enjoy as we chat over tea.
I made some peanut butter cookies to go with our peppermint tea.

I love the daintiness of these teacups that I bought at a yardsale several years ago.

My midseason peonies are starting to bloom-soon there will be hundreds of peony blooms in the garden. The midseason lilacs are also blooming and the early roses so I wish you could enjoy the fragrance of three of my favorite flowers.
The teapot was a find at Coulson's and the perfect match for the teacups.
These lilacs were bred in Canada and they have a lovely but different fragrance from the French lilacs.I have several different ones that are in bloom now. There fragrance carries through out much of the garden.
Behind the Canadian lilac is the Korean standard Miss Kim. She is covered in blooms right now.
I hope all you tea drinkers are also garden lovers or else I have bored you to tears!

I am joining Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage for TeaTime Tuesday today. I know you will enjoy visiting all the other tea time participants there today.

Thank you for visiting me and now I am off to enjoy doing some garden chores.

Take care,
Carolyn

Yes, I am a tea drinker, although I enjoy a cup of coffee with a lot of milk now and then. Delightful pictures of your tea & garden. How green it all looks. Your lilacs, peonies and roses look beautiful!

  6. Hi there!

I would love to take a cup of tea at your table. You are so good on making things look great and I would love to be able to do the same, lol.

Here the lilacs are all gone, and soon the peonies too. It's too warm so they disappear too fast.

Hope you have a nice day.
    Love Elzie

  9. I have a Miss Kim lilac too and it is very fragrant. To sit and enjoy the fragrance would be a lovely place for a cup of tea and a delicious peanut butter cookie. Yum. V

  10. Hi Carolyn
Since our lilacs finished a week or so ago, it was refreshing to remember them with the photos of yours. Miss Kim is below my kitchen window and has the most pleasant fragrance of the dwarf varieties.
Tea and gardening, my two favourite things too which is why I like visiting you.
I haven't made peanut butter cookies for awhile, maybe I should head for the kitchen.
As always, a joy to join you for tea.

  11. Hi Carolyn,
Your table looks very inviting with your blooms and pretty china. Love the little rosebuds on your tea things. Pink is such a lovely colour and it always soothes me! Your lilacs are all so lovely. It must be delightful to have different varieties to enjoy throughout the summer. Thank you for joining me for tea and enjoy your evening. It has been a gorgeous day!

    Blessings,
