Indoor Beauty!

  Hello everyone,
I hope you are all having a good week. We have been enjoying some bright sunny weather here even through it is a little frosty. I have been enjoying the beauty of  a couple of amaryllis and some paperwhites that are blooming now. I love that there is still some beautiful blooms that I can watch grow and bloom even in winter.
This is in our sun room that has old single pained glass so they frost up on chilly winter nights. I like the sparkle they give behind the blooms. The cherub statue came in from the garden.

On cold nights I have to take the plants in for the night as the sunroom would be too cold.

the paperwhites in bloom
macro shot- I really need to practice more with my macro lens. If anyone has any tips I would love to hear them. Some people have asked what camera I use and it is a Canon Rebel.
The top one is appleblossom but I forgot to save the name of the other one.

macro again

this orchid has been blooming for months now.

This is a new double ameryllis that I just planted- they are on clearance now.

If you haven't already grown these I think you should give them a try as they are easy to grow and so beautiful in flower with each stalk producing at least 4 flowers and each bulb has 2 or 3 stalk. The blooms will last for a few weeks especially if kept in a cooler place at night.

Well, I hope you have enjoyed seeing some of our indoor beauty and when my double one blooms I will be sure to share it's beauty!
I am joining Cindy today for Show & Tell Friday at My Romantic Home.

I hope you have a great weekend,

Carolyn

Your flowers are lovely, and it must be so nice to have color this time of year. I'm always too busy to think about gardening until spring, but then again I guess that's why you have a prettier garden then me. I'll enjoy seeing your things for these coming months since I have little color of my own to enjoy.

Hi Carolyn,
Your indoor plants are just gorgeous. I love all the different colours. I am looking forward to the PEI tulips coming in the grocery store. I usually buy a bouquet every other week to brighten up the house. :-) I hear you may be in for another winter storm. Stay safe.

Dearest Carolyn,

First, thank you for visiting my blog about Papa's 90th birthday and your comment!
Wow, only single paned windows in your sun rooms; that must be cold in winter! Plants need protection, that is for sure. But yours seem to be rather happy the way they bloom, so full and lush.
Your last two photos are not showing, just two black squares... loved to have seen more wonderful shots taken with your Rebel!
By the way, have you seen my International Giveaway of a 925/000 silver angel from Italy? It is still on till January 25th. Grab your button and place a comment to participate!

Lots of love,

The amaryllis are the most interesting flowers to have inside. A pity they do not have perfume.
You captured well their beauty.

Belle journée !

Carolyn: I am a big Amaryllis fan also and have about 7 growing right now. I also have an orange one blooming which is a pass along bulb I got from a friend. It is a rebloomer and reblooms in August also. Like you I depend on my indoor garden to get me through the winter. You are a talented photographer.

What beautiful pictures for a wintry day. I love paperwhites but have never grown them. I guess I need to try. :o)

A friend gave me an orchid for Christmas and I love having it's blossoms to look at each day (there's a photo of it on my blog).

Thanks for sharing such beauty with us!
