Hello everyone,
It has been so hot here lately I haven't been taking a lot of photos so I am sharing some pics of our balcony that some of you may have seen before. The balcony is off our bedroom at he south of our house.
The iron table and chair set I got at a yard sale several years ago for $50. It was my find of the summer!
The rest of the furniture also came from yard sales and is very heavy so it doesn't blow around.
Birdhouses always add charm!
I grow some dahlia's in pots and keep them in the basement over winter.
It is a nice place to start the day with a fruit smoothie and whole wheat raisin scone.
I enjoy star gazing in these chairs at night.
The view of the balcony from our bedroom.
The view looking through the screen door.
I am happy to report that my Mom was able to leave the hospital today and go back to the home where she has been for the past few years. She was happy to be back but so very tired.
We are watching the weather as Hurricane Earl is headed our way but thankfully he has been downgraded so hopefully it will just be a wet windy day and we need some rain anyway.
I am joining Cindy again for Show and Tell Friday at My Romantic Home - there is lots to see over there!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend,
Carolyn

Hello Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteI feel like I haven't been here in awhile. It's been a very busy time of year and have missed my visits.
I love your porch and I hadn't seen it before. I always marvel at how you and your husband manage to keep all of your amazing gardens in such pristine shape and now I get to see another!
Thankfully Earl was not much.
I'd love to have you join us at Seasonal Sundays!

Hello Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteAs I was watching the weather news on Earl, I thought of you up there in the North East. I hope that all you got was some nice rain for your beautiful gardens! I am happy for you that your dear mom is in her familiar surroundings. This should bring you peace of mind. Best wishes on continued good weather! Hugs!
Your balcony is so pretty. I can't believe you found the cast iron patio set for $50. Yard sales are amazing! I also enjoyed looked at some of your other posts showing your amazing gardens.
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't mind. I linked your post to my Porch and Garden Party at firstadream.blogspot.com.

Dear Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteI haven't commented for a while but I am still enjoying coming. I say this to add in my little bit and to say that I have been praying for your mom and I'm so glad that she's better!
This is such a peaceful post. I can soooo see you enjoying breakfast, here, or, even, just coming out in the morning or evening - even the star gazing. The colors are so wonderful!
We have been having the worst drought that anyone's ever seen here. Wells are running dry and my perennials that I haven't moved from the old house are mostly crisp. We need rain so desperately but earle only gave me some large splashes on my face. I've been thinking of you and even asked God to have mercy on your garden and to not flatten it!!!!! I hope that it was all okay!!
Finally, rejoice with me! There is a young man who is coming on Wed. morning to help me double dig the garden soil so that I can plant - FINALLY!!!
Love, Katy Noelle
beautiful garden !!!
