Hello everyone,
Well, now that it is officially Fall it is time for me to get out some of my fall linens, china etc. and enjoy lunch in the garden.
As some of you know this is the gazebo that my husband built last year to give a focal point to this part of our garden. it has a bench on either side built in so I put old thrift store table in it with a tablecloth and we are good to go! The old door at the back was from my daughter's old house and when she gave it to me I knew I would find a place for it. The old shutters were another freebe.
The sweet autumn clematis is just starting to bloom now. It will smell so good when it does.
We are just going casual again today.
A table always looks prettier with a bouquet of flowers.
Although I always think of my Mom's home country(Holland) when I use this china but it is actually made in Japan.
It is lovely to enjoy a lunch out in the Fall garden.
This is how Chelsea Garden came by it's name -I bought this sign that I liked at Winner's a few years ago and hung it on the garden gate and so it became our Chelsea Garden.
The limelight hydrangea's are in full glory now.
Well, this is my first Fall lunch in the garden for this year but hopefully there will be more!
A stunning Fall garden Table setting. BTW, I have many different varieties of hydrangeas but bought a Limelight just today. Looking forward to all the beautiful bloom.

ReplyDeleteDearest Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a treat for having lunch in such a special gazebo! Love the door and the special scroll work with a view into your lovely garden. Enjoy many more of those garden-lunches this fall.
About the china you mention for being from Japan; Did you know that the Kingdom of The Netherlands has had over 400 years of a friendly relationship with Japan? Hence the windmills on their china... Both countries have adopted design ideas from each other over the centuries of trade between the two.

How happy you must be to have this little retreat and how romantic it looks.
ReplyDeleteAll is so perfectly, artistically, exquisitely displayed... it is the perfect place for a romantic lunch in the autumn light. You must enjoy it.
These last days was warm and sunny and it was a pleasure to have lunch in our terrace watching the midges and last butterflies dansing in the golden light.
