Good Morning,
We have been having warm days but cool nights and when I got up a couple of mornings ago there was a' beautiful mist on the moor' as I like to think of it. Not that we actually have a moor but it sounds good anyway!
Of course, I graped my camera and quickly took a few shots around the garden.
The mist was already starting to lift by the time I shot our little garden cottage.
I love a misty morning don't you? I was going to do my garden tour photos today but for some reason the computer wouldn't send more then a dozen pics today and I couldn't do justice to a garden tour with so few so hopefully tomorrow it will work better for me.
In the meantime I hope you enjoy the 'Mist on the Moor'.
Thank you for visiting and hope you have a good day.
Carolyn
That's so lovely Carolyn! And you're right - moor sounds do much nicer :)
ReplyDeleteI wonder if you know why my Endless Summer (NOT!) hydrangeas aren't blooming this year - 3 years old- bloomed 1st and 2nd year - but nothing this year. They're lovely and green but no blossoms - yet.
It's beautiful, Carolyn! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHi Kathie,
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem with a few of mine -when I checked at garden centers one said too much fertilizer and the other said not enough!
I am going to see if I can find out-does anyone else know why?
Take care,
Carolyn
Your gardens are unbelievably beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCarolyn, these photos are simply breathtaking! I would be up early every morning just to sit and gaze at all this beauty :) Yes, Moor sounds much better; gives it a touch of romance, like in a Jane Austin movie! Thank you for sharing your lovely romantic gardens with us.

HI Carolyn...I love the "mist on the moor"...Yep, call it whatever you want...it's beautiful...all the photos. I loved the first one with the gate...because it reminded me of the Anne of Green Gables movies...and specifically the scene in Anne of Avonlea where Anne's hair is all wavy and pretty, she's holding her new book, and she runs out into the morning mist to pay Gilbert a visit :) :)...ahh romantic :) :) The other photos were nice too. I've always loved the mist...it makes everything more magical somehow. What a blessing God has given you here and you get to love on family and friends in this beautiful place :) :) Thanks for sharing these photos!! Have a lovely Wednesday. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)
ReplyDeleteSome of these pictures are so intriguing. You couldn't have set the light better with a whole movie crew! The one with the lamp post is beautiful. Thanks for being quick with the camera and for sharing
ReplyDeleteBreathtaking. Thanks for bringing a smile to my morning!

ReplyDeleteI'm speechless, Carolyn! Just when I thought your garden couldn't get any more beautiful or romantic, here are these exquisite photos. It's so tricky catching misty light as it's very fleeting but you did a wonderful job. Bound to be one of your most classic posts! – g

Carolyn- ABSOLUTELY beautiful. We get lots of that mist here today. However ours is over the Bay. I call it that Bay Blanket- Love the Mist On The Moor title! I would love to be able to sit in all that glorious beauty and enjoy a cup of coffee. What time did you say the pot would be ready?>) Diana

Oh what simply gorgeous pics of mist on the moor! I just found your beautiful blog while blog hopping and read your interview and home tour on Houzz (I'm not even sure how I found it there as I had not been on that website before). I couldn't find a date on the interview, but love your home and story. Are your wedding pics on your blog recent? Both of our daughters got married last year. Looking forward to following you and seeing your garden tour and PEI. I have another blog friend in PEI that I enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
~ Julie
Carolyn: those pictures are just pure magic - don't you love the peace of early morning in the maritimes?
ReplyDeleteEven a rainy foggy day like today is worthwhile!
Hello Carolyn
ReplyDeleteThere's a certain tranquilty to a misy morning, isn't there? Always nice to view the garden in a different light too.
Endless Summer hydrangeas are supposed to bloom on old & new wood but do not on old wood here in zone 5a. The buds for this year that would form on the new wood may have been hit by a late frost, killing them.
I have Let's Dance 'Moonlight' a cross from Endless Summer and I don't see any blooms on it this year when it's had lots in the past.
I don't believe fertilizer has anything to do with it at this point - the late winter/early spring weather determines the outcome of flowers.
Hopefully next year they will have lots of blooms again.
Judith
That is just beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteSo awesome! How can you bear it? You should put together a beautiful calendar--I'd buy it!
ReplyDelete"Cabin and Cottage" has an excellent idea in regards to a AH&G calendar. I would buy it too! :)
