Garden Tour

Hello everyone,

I know it is only a couple of days since I took you around the garden but it is just bursting with color and I know it will be declining all too soon so I want to share it with you again.

The Limelight hydrangea is a new addition a year to two ago to this corner and I think it looks so pretty with the phlox and clematis and daylilies.

I took all these photos last evening when the light was good. it is good that i have a digital camera as I take hundreds of photos as I go around the garden.

The phlox is putting on such a good show now.

I love my clematis Jackmani superba.

there are some roses blooming

Blue Stockings beebalm-it has bluish stems too.

It looks good with the phlox and the hummingbirds love it.

Globe thistle is rather interesting I think and it looks good in bouquets too.

My Rosemoor clematis is such a beautiful color and prolific bloomer.

Clematis with Monkshood of which I have several varieties some will bloom in Sept. and Oct.

i grow some dahlias in big pots so they can be moved to fill in a weak area in the border.

This is a new hydrangea from last year.

I love the clematis in back -General Sirkorski,it is such a pretty color.

Ville de Lyon clematis.

Well, I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the abundant color that is in the garden now.

I am joining Show and Tell Friday at My Romantic Home again today- thank you Cindy for hosting.

Thanks to you too for coming along with me again today.

Have a good weekend,

Carolyn

But I do want to tell you how lovely your garden is, and how VERY inspirational you are to me!

And of course to say thank you for sharing it all with us!

  3. I share your feelings, Carolyn... I know I'm always showing my garden post after post, and people must be tired of seeing same thing time after time, but my passion for my garden keeps growing as the seasons change and grow old... like you said, soon the earth will go back to sleep again... every lovely petal will ‘evaporate’ way too soon, and I just want to keep it a littler longer... a little for ever.... at least in memories...

Have a lovely weekend dear kindred spirit...

  6. Hi,

As always, your garden is beautiful, as are the photos you post.

Can you tell me - do you have deer that roam your garden? We have them, and they really do a lot of damage on our plants. I can't keep phlox, hosta, or even Sedum because of the deer. They also keep chomping on my new hydrangea shrubs so they're having difficulty becoming established.

Do you have that trouble, and if so, how do you get your phlox and your hydrangeas to be so full and beautiful and apparently untouched?

  7. I never tire of seeing your beautiful garden tours. I too love clematis but here in N FL we don't see too many of them at the nurseries in our area. I'm not sure why but I do have three, a double white and two otheres that are both blue. That pink one of yours, I wish I could find it. I have never seen that Limelight hydrangea either. I will definitely put that on my list to look for.

As always, you are certainly an inspiration. Here in N FL, our heat and humidity has really stressed my garden so it's such a joy to see yours.

  17. Beautiful flowers Carolyn. I always enjoy seeing the birdhouse on the post.
I am at my provincial horticultural convention right now and I hired Dugald Cameron as a speaker and vendor. Told him how excited you were to receive his catalogue and he replied that he has quite a few customers in your province.
I picked up H. Little Lime from him as I already have Limelight.

  26. Dear Carolyn,

You have the most beautiful garden I now! I enjoyed scrolling through your pictures. All those pinks, blues and purples! In my garden the decline has already started. Some plants are fading away. Even the temperatures are dropping a bit. I don't mind! We are so lucky to have seasons! I am already looking forward to the pumpkins.

    Wishing you a lovely weekend!

    Lieve groet, Madelief
