China Cupboard Makeover

I am glad you stopped by for a visit because I wanted to share my china cupboard makeover with you today. I had this old cupboard for a long time but it was pine and a little rough so it no longer suited where it was but I didn't want to get rid of it so I painted it a warm white and found a new home for it in the sun room.

then I had fun digging out my pink and white china to go into it.

I almost forgot to take my before photo .

This is the sun room and it is on the only wall without windows. So now when I have my tea in here or read I can enjoy my china in the made over cupboard .

Today,I am joining in with Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Metamorphosis Monday and Show off your Cottage Monday at Cielo's House in the Roses where there will be lots of inspiration for you.

Thanks for visiting,

Carolyn

  1. What a lovely makeover! After seeing your display, I'm inspired to hang a few teacups in my vitrine. It's so nice in that you can actually see the cups which are so pretty.

I've been fretting about the lack of getting things done around here. I think my project for the moment is living ~ those puppies!

  9. Wonderful idea, I took my pine hutch and also painted it white, but left the inside a honey pine, changed the knobs to a brass and put it my dinning room, gives a fresh look in a low light room. But, I do not have your lovely dishes. Take care.

  17. Oh, Carolyn. That looks gorgeous. Love it. You did a great job. I'd be willing to bet that the sixth cup down, with the roses, is from Bavaria. Remember my post on the Rosalinda china a couple days ago? Looks very similar. Take care and thanks for sharing your gorgeous china cabinet. Sincerely, Susan

  25. I am working on my courage Carolyn! I am in the "getting the courage up" process. I see yourself and others painting shabby chic white and I love it. I wouldn't find it as hard if I could forget the many days we spent stripping those old antiques. Time to move on though I know and update!

  26. Oh Carolyn,

What a beautiful makeover! Your china looks so good against the white background. All those rose patterns....I am turning a bit green of envy ;-)! You have such a beautiful collection. I enjoyed looking at your photos very much!

Hope you had a happy pentecost?! 28 degrees it very hot. It was about 20 degrees in Holland today. We cycled to Delft and had tea in the garden afterwards. Such a lovely way to spend the day!
