A Winter Solstice Dinner

In honor of Winter Solstice I am having a romantic fireside dinner if you would like to join me. I love winter solstice as the days are starting to get longer again. This evening we can have dinner just the two of us by the fireside. Come in and have a comfy seat by the fire.

I have a lot of pictures so I won't waste time with words as I know you are busy.

The dishes we are using tonight are Friendly Village. I have been picking up a few pieces here and there. This 3 tierd plate was a lovely Christmas gift from my friend Heather.

Have a glass of sparkling cider

This is where I keep my Friendly Village and similar china.

The stockings are hung by the chimney with care

Well,I hope you enjoyed the evening and I will back for once more before Christmas and then I will take a little break for the holidays.

Take care,
Carolyn

  3. When we started our married life using Johnson Bros "Old mill" a good friend of mine got the Friendly Village for her dishes. They are similar, but Friendly Village seems to have remained popular and I see it more frequently at antique shops, and even department stores. I enjoyed a visit at your house! Have a wonderful Christmas!

  11. Christmas Greetings, sweet friend...

Ohhh my...what a beautiful dinner you have set in honor of us, my friend! Carolyn, I just can't imagine a more beautiful setting!!! A fabulous table set in a lovely room of your beautiful home...that beautifully decorated fireplace in the background...ohhh, it's all sooo lovely!!! Thank you, my friend!!!

It was such a treat to see your table set with the Johnson Bros. "Friendly Village" dinnerware! I just sent my dear mother a 7 piece place setting for four...for Christmas! She has already received it and was thrilled!!! It really is a gorgeous pattern...isn't it!

Well my friend...I am making just a few stops today! It's a busy time and I think it will only get busier as the days go by! We will have my husband's two children for their Christmas break from school. They always keep me busy! Hehe! During the Christmas season, I am always contemplating my many blessings...and you dear friend, are one of those blessings! I have really enjoyed all of our visits...and you ALWAYS inspire me!!! Thank you, Carolyn!!!

    Just thinking about you...

Warmest wishes and Christmas blessings to you and your family, sweet friend!!!
