Hello again,
I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful Christmas season. Can you believe another year has slipped away?
We had a wonderful time with our family gathered around for a few different events this Christmas season. I have always enjoyed having a big family but never more then at Christmas time. Although the days of excited little voices in the early hours of Christmas morning are gone(too quickly) I still love to have our now grown children arrive some with little ones in tow for fun, food and laughter! With seven children, five children in laws and nine grandchildren -we can make this old house rock!
some new Christmas china from my sweet husband.
My oldest daughter gave me this pretty lamp for Christmas
I was thinking what a"gift" your blog is - I look forward to visiting and always leave rested!

ReplyDeleteHello Carolyn,
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas with family and friends sounds so lovely and a house filled with little feet always makes for warm and memorable times for all, and your dishes look so pretty.
A few months back, just after entering the blog-world, I happened upon your blog and since, (for me) both it and you have been true inspirations. Your home is so beautifully warm and inviting. Thank you so much for sharing it with everyone.
My stepmother has told me so much about P.E.I and this summer I will be there attending my father’s 90th Birthday party, so I will be able to see first-hand all the beauty I have been hearing so much about.
As I read somewhere recently, and sorry I do not who wrote it first and I am paraphrasing here, but it goes something like “some use paint and a brush to create, others use words, or clay, a chisel or camera, but some others, the lucky ones- create by making a house a home” and that Carolyn is what you do so aptly ...
Again, I would like to take this opportunity to say, Thank You for sharing; your blog, it truly is a delight!
I wish you all the best in the coming year 2010- good health, heaps of love and joy and lots of fun.
Your posts are a thing of beauty and inspiration Carolyn, what wonderful gifts, I love the tea set and lamp equally, your family obviously share your love of beautiful treasures, wishing you a very happy new year, Kathy.

Carolyn, I was watching Anne of Green Gables the other night and they were using toile cups and saucers like yours. Every single time they would sip tea I would think of you. Prince Edward Island and toile....always makes me think of you now...and that's a good thing because your blog always fills me with serenity. Have a lovely New Year.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and your family.Eva from Hungary
