Rose Garden Tea

I hope you are enjoying these summer
days. We are having some hot summer
weather here .The roses in our cottage
garden are in full bloom and their fragrance
                                                             and beauty are so delightful.

There is a long hedge of these hardy roses
that give a sense of enclosure to our little
                                                       seaside cottage.

It is the perfect spot to enjoy
our afternoon tea.

A long row of lupins are in bloom
on the other side of the cottage..

The bouquet of peonies is from our garden at home
where the peonies are in full bloom..

Well, I am home now to enjoy our garden at
home and do some garden chores .

Just a reminder that we have an "open garden"
here in Warren Grove this Wednesday evening
from 6 to 8 pm....rain or shine and all are welcome
to come and tour the garden and the Gardener's Cottage
                                                           as well as the Boathouse.

                                                                                      Have a wonderful weekend!

Romantic Valentine Roses

      Happy Weekend!

How quickly another week has gone
by and the weekend is already here!

Today, I got some beautiful roses for
an early Valentine's Day gift.

I love roses so although my favorite
are roses from our own garden
in winter these do make me happy!

               Beautiful roses in a vintage
         vase.

You will notice I had fun taking
pictures of them.

                  Love this teapot!

Garden Enchantment

      Happy Weekend!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Even though it is cold here today I am
starting to dream about the return of
our garden. In our Zone 5b climate it
will be April before we can get out there
but time passes quickly and before we
know it there will be signs of life again.

So, I have been enjoying looking back
at some of my favorite shots from
previous years.

Ah, Spring time with lots
of color as the daffodils,
tulips etc. bloom.

             Peonies, lilacs and lupins
                 make a pretty combination

Tea time among the roses.....so enchanting!

I enjoy having lots of places to sit and enjoy the garden.

Arbors add so much charm in
                                                      the garden.

I love garden rooms so fences and arbors
add a sense of enclosure.

    Early August is so colorful!

      Another garden room

Deutizas in bloom as well as lilacs
in the background.

When you are tired of gardening it
is good to have a place to relax and
enjoy the view.

Lilacs add not only color but
an amazing fragrance to the garden.
It is always fun to dream a little
of the enchantment of the garden
even in the middle of winter......
                                                             don't you think?

                                                                          Thank you for visiting!

Mid July in the Garden

           Hello everyone,

I hope you are enjoying your summer.

It has been hot and dry here lately so
I am hoping for a nice rain soon.

However, the garden is still doing
well for now.

There are lots of roses in bloom.
                                                                       The virginia creeper is starting
to cover the north end of our barn
I always look forward to the tall, stately blooms of
                                                                our delphiniums.

                                                                Delphiniums,peonies and nepeta
I love the six hills giant nepeta along all
along the inside edges of our Allee Garden.
We have several mockoranges blooming
now and they have a wonderful scent.

Roses and delphiniums in our Chelsea Garden.

Lavender and roses in my little
                                                                      memory garden for my Mom.
So just a few highlights of our garden
in mid July. I hope you enjoyed the
quick tour today. Our daylillies are
starting their show now and we probably
have about 200 of them spread around the
garden and the phlox will follow shortly.

                                                                                         Thank you for stopping by!
