Romantic Garden Favorites

                                                                             Hello everyone,


                                                     It may be snowing here now but I have been
                                                     enjoying a little bit of summer as I scrolled through
                                                     my many photos of the garden looking for some of
                                                     my favorites once again.
                                                        I love the romantic look of the shot above with
                                                     the lilacs in bloom and the old wooden wheelbarrow
                                                     in the photo above.

It is always so beautiful on a misty morning

in the garden.

Garden structures like this arbor and fence add

so much charm to the garden all year.

Can you imagine whiling away a lazy summer

day in our garden hammock?

I seem to always be drawn to lilacs.

Peonies in the garden add fragrance and beauty

not to mention beautiful bouquets.

Clematis and delphiniums are also favorites

and I add new ones every year.

                                                            I took this shot several years ago but
                                                            it is still a favorite.

Little hidden nooks and grannies

bring a little surprise as you

wander.

Of course every romantic garden has

to have roses...don't you think?

                                           In a few months I will be looking forward
                                                      to the return of the garden but in the meantime
                                                      I am enjoying the beauty of our winter garden.

You're Invited to a Victorian Garden Tea Party

                                                                             Hello everyone,

                                                     Yesterday was a busy day in the garden as we
                                                      had a big bus load of gardener's from Nova Scotia
                                                      arrive in the afternoon as well as our "open garden"
                                                      visitors in the evening and a lovely couple from Montreal.
                                                       So, I had lots of fellow gardeners to chat with!
                                                            Now, I am looking forward to hosting a
                                                      Victorian Garden Tea soon......Saturday, July 21th.
                                                            There will be 2 seatings 10 to 12 am and 1:30
                                                       to 3:30. Tickets are going fast go so if you would
                                                        like to come you can buy your ticket online from
                                                        Gaylene Smith.
                                                        This is a fundraiser for Mikinduri Children of Hope
                                                         and the tickets are $25 each. I am happy to be able
                                                         to support this great cause .

There will be tea and scones with devonshire cream

and lemon curd.

                                                             You can enjoy a stroll through the garden.

Take a tour of the Gardener's Cottage

Enjoy our little Boathouse that my husband and

son built a few years ago using recycled windows

doors etc.

The Boathouse is a favorite spot with

many of our visitors and I have enjoyed

sleeping in here on warm summer nights.

I love being able to use my rather

large collection of  pretty china.

                                              tweak. I love picking bouquets for the tables
                                             from the garden .

Summer Blues

Hello everyone!

I hope you are enjoying lovely summer

days.

With the arrival of summer beach days

are a favorite for many of us Islanders.

My husband built this arbor and gate a 

few years ago.

                                               Well, time to relax now with a
                                                           good book as the waves lap
                                                           gently on the shore and listen
                                                           to the occasional cry of the seagulls.....
                                                           ah! perfection!!!

Welcome Spring!

                                                                   Welcome Spring!

                                                   I am always excited to welcome spring!

                                                   We had a milder winter with
                                                   hardly any snow this year so most Islanders
                                                   were happy with that...all but outdoor winter
                                                   sports fans anyway.

                                                   Soon, I will be making daily checks around the
                                                   garden to see what is starting to show signs of
                                                    life. Our spring here tends to drag out a bit and
                                                    we often get an early spring snowfall or two,
                                                    but still we know spring is on the way!
