Transferware Lunch in the September Garden

Hello everyone!

   I hope your weekend is going well.

    Although we still have lovely days in

       September there is signs of approaching

       autumn so it is nice to enjoy these sunny

       but cooler days in the garden as much as

possible.

So, I thought I would share one of my

favorite tablescapes from a couple

of years ago in our September garden.

                                                                    I have always loved variations of the
                                                                    Cabbage Rose pattern and have collected
                                                                   bits and pieces over the years.

                                                         My friend Snow and I had fun setting
                                                         the table out under the old apple trees
                                                         in our garden where it was nice and
                                                         shady on a perfect September day.

                                                                  We layered the table with linens and lace.

                                                           A bouquet of flowers from our garden
                                                           and my red and white transferware were
                                                           used.

                                                                   We had a great harvest of cherry tomatoes.

                                               It was a beautiful day to enjoy a
                                                          late summer lunch in the garden.

Romantic Rose Garden

   Hello everyone,

I love when the roses burst into bloom

in the little enclosed garden at the south

end of The Gardener's Cottage.

So now is the best time for this little

garden. The roses are mostly Therese Bugnet

which is a good hardy roses for our climate.

                                              This morning I was taking some pics
                                                         in our Allee Garden which is pretty
                                                         now with the later lilacs etc. blooming
                                                         and the fragrance is incredible!

                                                               Just a reminder .....we are having an Open Garden
                                                         on July 4th between 6 and 8 p.m in case you would
                                                        like to visit our garden. It will look completely different
                                                        by then!

        On this lovely sunny warm weekend

       I thought I would pop in and share a

few relaxing photos with you.

         Our lilacs are blooming so there are

lots for bouquets.

Victoria ~Paris in Bloom~ & Me

                                                                            Hello everyone,
                                                       
                                                              I am excited to share that the Victoria
                                                              magazines with our garden feature is
                                                              now out on our local newsstands.
                                                                 I have to say it is quite a thrill to
                                                              have our garden featured in this
                                                              beautiful magazine. Thank you Victoria
                                                              and Kate Sears! Kate did an amazing job
                                                              of photographing the garden.

                                                                   It was also an honor to be featured in
                                                               the same magazine as Georgianna Lane
                                                               whose blog I discovered a few years ago
                                                               and I have been in awe of her talent ever
                                                               since. I was happy to get a copy of her
                                                               beautiful book Paris in Bloom at Indigo
                                                               here locally under Editor's Pick but also
                                                               available online worldwide!
                                                                     Georgianna has a very soft romantic style
                                                                and I love getting a peek at the beauty of her
                                                                travels...... wish I could fit in her camera bag!
                                                                 I love her warm, friendly personality as well

                                                                   I will enjoy many cups of tea while

A Spring Tea

      Hello everyone,

  This week it seems more like spring here

as the temperatures are rising and snow

      is melting. I saw some snowdrops blooming

         in the garden and I look forward to having our

   own hyacinths and tulips blooming but for

             now I am happy to have some store bought ones.

Yesterday, my sister in law/friend

came over for afternoon tea so I

     used my newest thrift store teacups.

      A couple of spring bouquets and we

       were all set to enjoy our scones and tea.
