Love that you left the door there...it looks wonderful there, along with your dad's bike...what a wonderful landscape you've created. I just left Arizona where my two brothers built homes out in the desert...what a contrast! I wish I could have my hydrangeas last as long as yours. I will have to go on the hunt for more, and I do like the pink one. I have one that is quite small since I bought it at the end of last year, but it is called waterfall. That is exactly what the flowers do! I can't wait for that one to get bigger. I always enjoy all of your photos!
Take Care!
Ulrike*Ulrike*https://www.blogger.com/profile/15640965012612927392noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4245215492918574322.post-72293628662671340922009-09-30T15:56:51.700-03:002009-09-30T15:56:51.700-03:00Gorgeous...but I got stopped on the Sumac...those ...Gorgeous...but I got stopped on the Sumac...those grow wild along our roadsides...I had no idea anyone planted them on purpose. I live in the foothills of the Cascade Mtns. in WA. I was not to happy to see the snow down this low already as I am still working in my garden! Your garden still looks so beautiful...Hi Carolyn,

Your garden still looks so beautiful. I like the part with the fake entrance. I think you succeeded in making it look English! You wrote about your mother and I was wondering. Could I do you a favour by sending some Dutch things like 'dropjes', 'hagelslag' or 'ontbijtkoek' for her? Your mother will probably remember them from her youth. I don't know if you can buy these kind of things on the island, but I would love to send them to you. Maybe it will bring back some good memories!

Lieve groet, MadeliefMadeliefhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05906326152435858221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4245215492918574322.post-50834503373929252492009-09-30T12:55:19.805-03:002009-09-30T12:55:19.805-03:00I think it is fair to say that you have definitely...I think it is fair to say that you have definitely achieved that English Garden. I enjoy The English Garden magazine also as well as The English Home. Beautiful post and I particularly enjoyed the pic of the sedum. Another plant for me to investigate to see if I can grow it here. My Annabelle hydrangeas completed their bloom by July but I do enjoy them so.

Carolyn/A Southerners NotebookSoutherncookhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17205120984091304271noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4245215492918574322.post-55169263750453313052009-09-30T12:41:58.256-03:002009-09-30T12:41:58.256-03:00Blessings Carolyn,

It's getting colder and colder here in Colorado as well! It does look just like an English garden, Darlin'!!! Sooo very beautiful!!! I spied that little pumpkin too!

I also took a tour through your last post...of all your fabulous yard sale finds! Girl, you made out like a bandit!!! Sooo, so many beautiful treasures!
