Lighthouses of Prince Edward Island

Welcome!

Prince Edward Island is home to over 50 lighthouses
and I enjoy photography them on our travels
around the Island in either winter or summer.

So, I am hoping you share my love for old lighthouses.

The one above is in Covehead on the north shore.

This one is in Brighton, Charlottetown.
I took this one a few weeks ago after
a fresh snowfall.

Although this one in Summerside overlooking the
harbor it is not a real lighthouse but I love the colors.

The Point Prim lighthouse is the oldest lighthouse
on Prince Edward Island and the only round one on
                                                               the Island.

These next two are at Fort Amhearst overlooking
the Charlottetown harbor.

The Panmure Island Lighthouse has a
nice gift shop where I bought some coastal
decor a couple of years ago.

The French River lighthouse overlooks
a nice sandy beach that we enjoy.

I have several more lighthouse pictures to
share but that will be part 2. coming soon.

I hope you have a good week!

Hi Carolyn,
I love lighthouses too. A couple of years ago my husband and I took a trip up the Maine coast and visited some lighthouses. We also drove up the Oregon coast and the lighthouses are every thirty miles. The story goes, when a ship would pass a lighthouse and it wasn't visible anymore another lighthouse would come into view. On my bucket list is cruising to Prince Edward Island to see your lighthouses in person. Thank you for sharing your beautiful island.
Joyously,
Betty

Oh my! They are absolutely gorgeous! It's a magical world there! I used to live in Canada, but in the western part, in Calgary. How I wish, I had had the opportunity to visit PEI. Not to mention the fact that I am a great Road to Avonlea and Anne of the Green Gables fan!!!! :) Thank you for sharing these beautiful pics!

I just love looking at your photos. The places in your pictures are always gorgeous. These lighthouses are no exception. How I would love to visit Prince Edward Island someday. :) What kind of camera do you use? I am looking for a camera and am tying to find a good one that will take clear pictures like yours. :)

Have a lovely day!

Hi Ashley,
The camera I use is a Canon 60D. I have a few
different lens for it that I enjoy using as well.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments.

Hi Carolyn, My mother and I have a trip to PEI planned for September 2018. I plan to see as many lighthouses as possible (thank you for the preview) as well as all things Anne. :) I have two teacups with Green Gables on them I am going to bring them with me so that we can drink tea from them on the lawn of Green Gables. I am looking forward to your future posts.
