The Color Purple

                   Hello everyone,

Today my theme is the color purple or at
least shades there of.
The lupins are just stating to grow again
here .....so many plants are poking up now.
I am hoping they will spread around our pond
as they grow wild here in ditches etc..

                                                                          Delphiniums and clematis.

                                                                             Clematis
                                                                         Looking forward to the lilacs
                                                                         blooming in our garden.

                                                                              Phlox and beebalm.
                                                                            Lupines growing in the wild.

We have lots of clematis in our
garden to add beauty and height.
For a softer shade of purple....
                                                                         an old handmade quilt.
                                                                            On our summer porch

                                                                              An old wooden bucket full
                                                                              of lilacs.
                                                                                       Sensation lilac is so pretty!
Well, that is it for The Color Purple for today.

This is the time of year that I am a little starved
for color as I wait for the grass to turn green,
the trees to leaf out and of course the garden to
                                                               burst into color!
                                                                                            Thank you for your visit,

                                                                                                                  Carolyn

Oh, just gorgeous. What a paradise. I'm planting delphs this year, and I love your idea of pairing them with clementis!

Can never have enough blue and purple in the garden! Those shades go so nicely with everything else. I just can't seem to grow lupines, and I love them so much. Is there a secret to success? Each photo is gorgeous.

Oh, yes. . .I am starved for some color, too. The purples are beautiful. I keep buying more and more seeds to plant (started indoors), and I just ordered some blue larkspur and more Delphiniums. These usually come out in late June/July around here, so I should have enough time to get them in. I just hope I have the room for it all! Didn't think about the Lupines, and I love those, too. Wow! Thank you for sharing these beautiful photos, today.

Carolyn, what lovely shades of purple you enjoy in your beautiful gardens and home! I can't wait until the lilac time too -- mine aren't as large and floriferous as yours, but they smell wonderful all the same. Thanks for sharing your beautiful scenes, and best wishes for an enjoyable springtime! -Beth

Oh, I just LOVE those colors, Carolyn. So stunning. For sure you have read the children's book, "Miss Rumphius," right? She planted oodles of lupines to make the world a more beautiful place, remember? Lovely post. Susan

Just gorgeous, Carolyn! OI had to rejoin as a regular member reader to your blog yet again - this is getting ridiculous how many I got bumped out of - and then trying to go back and find everyone, grrrr.

Anyway, sorry I have been absent! Will try and go back and catch up. I think I would die happy in sleep on that pretty outdoor bed if it was warm but not hot - what a serene place to rest, my golly!

It's cold and grey and rainy and I am sick with a cold. Spring will come, will it not? Sure doesn't feel like it right now! : - )

I love your artistry in creating beautiful vignettes. We share many of the same tastes and it is a joy to see your lovely home and garden. I live in the tropics and run a guest house and have been inspired by you to make it a more homey and comfortable place to stay.
