Our Summer Porch

     Happy July!

I hope all my Canadian friends had a
wonderful Canada Day yesterday.
Finally, summer has arrived here and
I am ready for some porch sitting!

I gave all the furniture a fresh coat of white
paint. The screen door was a 70 mile yard
sale find last year for $20 but it needed a
couple of coats of paint too.
Did you happen to notice the color change
on our house too? We were pretty pleased
with ourselves when we got it done with a
little help from our son.We are waiting for
the roofer to come to put a new grey roof on
                                                       soon.
I am enjoying the fresh new look.

It is lupin season here on the Island
                                                                  so lots of for bouquets.
The white rocking chair was a wedding
gift to my husband's parents many years ago.
I am happy to have it for our porch.

We enjoy watching the sparrows feed their
young in the birdhouse  beside us on the porch.

The garden view from this little porch.
The garden has changed dramatically with all the
peonies. I am looking forward to doing a photo shoot
soon. Also, looking forward to enjoying some iced tea
on the porch as the summer days are here and we have a
little break from our busy days.......unless I see something
                                                  else to paint!

                                                                      Thanks for your visit!

                                                                                    Carolyn

Your porch is so warm and inviting. The screen door stole my heart. I can see many a good time spent out there visiting the hours away.

I love the blues on your porch - so cool and refreshing. I really enjoy your gardens and wish I could see them in person! I can assume, since you have so many grandchildren, that we might be close on age (I'm 60) and I am inspired that you do so much work on your gardens. I was out all afternoon weeding and I'm so sore! But I'm determined to keep at it!

Love the new colour, Carolyn! I've always admired that birdhouse standing tall amongst the peonies. Did Andrew build it??? You seem to be having nice weather these days. EnJOY your iced tea and quiet times.

I see that you have changed your house color. It's lovely. What a job to paint your house and good you had a young man to help. Your porch is pretty.

Your porch looks very cozy, Carolyn. You have such lovely views to enjoy while sitting there and how wonderful that you have Andrew's parents' rocker! We finally have some summer weather and I'm looking forward to getting out to the beach. Have a lovely weekend.

Blessings,
Sandi

Hello Carolyn. Oh, I just LOVE that door. So perfect for your house! And the lupines are exquisite. I loved that children's story, Miss Rumphius, about the woman who sprinkled lupine seeds all through the town. I even bought a copy for my library! Love it. Susan

Carolyn, I will be visiting Prince Edward Island in September. Do you host garden tours at that time of year, and if so, how do we arrange to visit?
