A Gingham Garden Tea

                                                                         Hello everyone,

It is mainly cloudy here but warm
enough to enjoy a casual afternoon
                                                            tea in the garden.
                                                                     I made strawberry shortcakes
and iced tea for our tea today.
                                                                      The delphiniums are attracting the
hummingbirds so it is nice to watch
them flutter from flower to flower.
                                                                       A casual country garden setting.

I do enjoy strawberry shortcake
with homemade biscuits and
whipped cream.

The picnic basket was a gift
from my sister in law several
                                                                   years ago.

Sit and chat for awhile and enjoy
the beauty of nature all around!

Today,I am joining Bernideen's Tea Time Blog
for Tea in the Garden and Rose Chintz Cottage
                                                                for Tea Time Tuesday.

                                                                                        Take care,

                                                                                               Carolyn

Just beautiful! When we were in PEI in June, we drove by a Warren Grove road and I wondered if that was where you might be. PEI is a lovely place.

Your setting is beautiful, Carolyn! I made strawberry shortcake too this week. Do you suppose we will get some sun by the weekend?

Blessings,
Sandi

I forgot to mention that I love your picnic basket. It's a wonderful size. Thanks for joining me for tea and yes, let's hope our weather for August and September makes up for June and July! We deserve it after the winter we had. Take care.

Blessings,
Sandi

What an adorable tea party! Perfect for a hot summer day. It is in the 90's here today and I already feel cooler just looking at that luscious glass of tea.

What a wonderful, fun and colorful tea post.....perfect for Bernideen's "Tea in the Garden" link party, indeed!

For some odd reason (maybe all the early rain?) my hummers didn't really come back this year. Last year I couldn't fill the feeder fast enough, this year I keep having to pour out and make more. Makes me sad, actually. I love them - glad you can watch them.

I am thinking of taking our a couple of rose bushes not growing well b/c the trees have grown too tall and they aren't getting enough sun and putting Delphiniums there or something tall and colorful that gets some sun and mostly dappled light towards the last half of the day. Any suggestions?

I think I am mostly in your cold zone.

Dear Carolyn:
I noticed those tall delphiniums in the background and they make such a statement. Love the way the table just got tucked right in the midst of everything. Very lovely!

Your garden setting for tea is absolutely amazing! Your table is so welcoming with the gingham, glassware and flowers. I love how it's tucked into the flowers. I could stay there all day and enjoy your delicious strawberry shortcake.
Thank you for your recent visit and comment as it led me to your beautiful blog. Look forward to being your newest follower.

I am a red check girl too. What a wonderful and peaceful area to have afternoon tea. Of course here in Texas we have to wait till late afternoon. It was 102 today. Wish I could send a little of our sun your way. Luv it all!!
