The Island in Winter

                                                               Hello everyone,
I think a lot of people are looking for spring but there is still lots of beautiful winter days to enjoy
here first. Sometimes my husband's job means a drive to different parts of the Island and I happy
to go with him if time allows and take along my camera. So, I thought you might like to come
along too as Prince Edward Island is beautiful in all seasons.

I know I have shared Knox's Dam before but it is just so pretty in all seasons.
North Rustico a pretty fishing village and one of my favorite
summer drives but still pretty in winter.
                                                           A beautiful Island farm
A favorite place for me to see at Christmas time especially if we have snow.
I didn't have to go far to see this.....our own little boathouse.

Our neighbors red barn looks pretty against the snow and trees.
The lighthouse in Victoria by the sea.
                                                        a close up shot

Beautiful heritage homes in Summerside (except for lower right one).
                                                               Victoria by the Sea
Driving on country roads in winter we are happy for snow tires and snowplows!
Our boathouse a few weeks ago in the snow.
Lastly, a beautiful church in downtown Charlottetown ~ St Dunstan's Basilicia.

I am joining The Rose Garden in Malevik for Show-off Saturday.

Thank you for coming along on the drive and I hope you
                                have a wonderful weekend!

Garden Relaxation

                                                                     Hello everyone,
Today, even though we are still in the midst of winter I was doing a
little daydreaming of long summer days spent relaxing in the garden.
I think I must have dreamt that we have a couple of full time gardeners
if I was thinking I was going to be lazing around in a hammock all day!
Love this little secluded spot surrounded by roses.
Tea on the screened in porch will be lovely after I finish reading
                                         my book!
Breakfast on the veranda to start the day.
The old vintage rocker is pretty comfortable for tea also.
Lunch in the garden,anyone?

Lemonade and a cupcake before an afternoon nap?
Martha's Garden is another favorite garden nook.
                                                        Our Chelsea Garden.
Lots of choices for summer relaxation!

In case you were wondering, I added the lace
from an old bed skirt to the umbrella to give it a
                                                       romantic touch.
Phew! What a busy day .....so happy I can sit for a spell
by the pond  and enjoy the beauty of nature or maybe finish
that book I have been 'working' on all day.

Well, I enjoyed my daydreaming for awhile, but for now I will enjoy my
tea and a book by the fireside instead!
Now,just in case you think I am a pampered lady......I don't really spend
my days moving from hammock to hammock but I can always dream!!!

                                                                         Thank you for visiting,
                                                                                              Carolyn

Shades of White

                                                                        Hello everyone,
Hope you enjoyed your weekend. I am enjoying the light in our kitchen on
sunny days so I took a few shots to enjoy. I am also enjoying some spring
                          bulbs that are blooming.
Loving my white amaryllis with a green center.

                                                                    soft whites
A spot to read in our guest room.
While going through my files I found these pics from a few winters ago~ a
white outdoor picnic. Every year I like to do an outdoor picnic in winter.
                                                    Lacy linens and cream china.

I am off to visit my Mom and then we are going for dinner with friends but
you can stay and enjoy a cup of tea!

                                                    Thank you for visiting,

                                                                          Carolyn

Winter Beauty

                                                                      Hello everyone,
I hope you are enjoying your weekend. We are celebrating our
daughter's birthday by going out for dinner with her and some of
the family. Our oldest daughter and her family have been hit with
a nasty flu bug that is going around.
A few days ago I had fun with Lila outdoors just before the
snow storm hit so I am sharing a few of the pics that I took of her.
I found this cute little cute at a thrift shop ~ it has old fashion appeal.
The muff is part of a skating costume. I love the boots that also came
from one of my thrifting forays.
I got the inspiration for this shot from pinterest ~ always fun to get ideas there.

What could be cuter ~ unless it is the model herself!

Lila looks so much like her Mama at that age!
I had to show you the difference a day can make. My previous
tablescape now has a good cover of snow after we got 38 cm.!
It does look like winter for sure.

It has been quite a winter but tomorrow is another rain day here.
Anyway,I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend and thank
                               you for visiting me.

A Plaid Winter Picnic

Hello everyone,
We are having a snow day here ~ a blizzard warning has been issued.
Schools have been cancelled among many other things and we have
made our trip to the grocery store to stock up on necessities.
Probably not the best day for a winter picnic today but a couple
of days ago when I took these shots it was a good day.

We will still have lots of winter days yet so it is good to get out and
                                   enjoy them!

And so a thermos of hot cocoa and some ginger cookies
and I am good to go!

The plain vintage picnic lunch box came from Emmett and Ellie's on
University Ave. in Charlottetown last year. The plaid tablecloth came
from Homesense but the rest is mostly thrift shop finds.
This is our screened in porch where we enjoy most of our
                                         summer meals.

I hope you are enjoying winter where ever you are, but if you are not spring will be
here before you know it. I love how the days are getting longer now and the sun is
getting stronger. Today, however is a good day to snuggle in by the fireplace!

I am joining Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday.
Also joining The Charm of Home for Home Sweet Home and
My Romantic Home for Show & Tell Friday.

                                                                               Thank you for visiting,

                                                                                                     Carolyn
