Christmas at Fanningbank

I hope your week is going well. I mentioned
earlier that we went to the Open House at
Fanningbank on Monday evening. I look forward
to it every year. Fanningbank is the official residence
of our Lt. Governor H.Frank Lewis and his wife
Dorothy. They welcomed hundreds of people over
                                                             the course of the day.

I will let you roam quietly through so I don't
distract you from enjoying the beauty of it all.

I have to say I love these wood fireplaces.

                                                                Elegant dining room.
I love this tree with dried orange and apple
slices and bundles of cinnamon sticks.
,
                                                           This year the Christmas decorating
was done under the direction of
                                                           Shelly Campbell ~ great job!

                                                            Mantle closeup.

                                                         A real stuffed Canada goose.

Keeping the theme~ a stuffed quail (I think).

                                                              Another beautiful tree.
                                                        And another beautiful mantel.

Special Christmas music.
This tree is decorated with children in mind.
Do you remember making popcorn strings?
There was so much to see and enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed coming along with us on
                                                       this beautiful tour.

                                                                            Thank you for visiting,
                                                                                            Carolyn

Beautiful home and decorations. By the way I think the stuffed "quail" is actually a pheasant. Or at least it looks like the ones I grew up with in Nebraska/Iowa. Love your blog.

I loved the shots you got of the carolers in the mirror. Perfectly Christmasy. ;)

If you get a minute please come by my blog today. I posted some photos of my back yard and would love for you to see where I live, as I've been enjoying your back yard for so long now! Lol
