Welcome Autumn

It is time to welcome autumn and although I  hang onto summer
as long as I can I am ready to welcome autumn in all it's glory.
This old bike belonged to my Dad. He rescued it from going to
the dump many years ago and used to ride around town on it.
It is 19 years since my Dad passed away and I was thinking
how much he would have enjoyed the 70 mile yard sale as I think
I inherited my love of junk/treasure hunting from him. Dad also, loved
gardening and got me started over 20 years ago with some of his
plants. I wish I could walk around our garden with him now...I
know he would be proud to see how well those plants are doing!

                                                           Autumn colors.

A cosy spot to enjoy a book and a
                                                   cup of hot apple cider.

The knitted throw was a thrift shop find.
Well,as many of you know.yesterday was our 70 mile
yard sale day on the eastern end of the island. I had a couple of
tours and didn't think I could go but as luck would have it
one of my tours changed the time to 10:30 so we struck out at 7
and beat the crowds and came home with a car load of treasures!
                             I will share them later.

Wishing you all a happy fall!

                                                                               Carolyn

Glad to hear you were able to get some treasures - that has to be a neat event.

We have them about 3 hours away from here but have never gone. I just hate to get really super hot and it is always very hot when it is done. Perhaps one day.

We have PERFECT weather today. ♥ it!

Beautiful autumn pics, C!

What a pretty spot to enjoy a book of a nice cup of tea. Love the sunflowers and the glorious colors of autumn. I have been gathering wild flowers from the farm too. They are so cheery and bright. It is always such a pleasure to visit your blog Carolyn. You never fail to inspire.

Wishing you a beautiful week.

These are such pretty vignettes. I love the old bicycle and chair with the beautiful flowers. It was a really warm last day of summer here and quite enjoyable. I'm not sure if I'm ready to welcome fall though.

Hello Carolyn,
a very nice post.
I love the old bike with the flowers in the basket.
I did something like this in summer.
I painted an old bike in blue and hang on a basket with geranium.

Hi Carolyn,
I always enjoy seeing your Dad's bicycle. I am sure that he KNOWS your garden and is beyond proud...You are a treasure, my friend.
I hope you enjoyed the yard sale yesterday and I can't wait to see what you bought. Was there anything left? Lol
Wishing you a beautiful day,

Hi Carolyn,
You have made fall look so lovely! I drag my feet into it, it is so hard to build the garden and see Summer end, though a break from weeding is always welcome:-)
Your Dad's bike is darling, a fun keepsake!
A 70 mile yard sale, now that sounds amazing... lucky you!!
Hugs,
Bella
