Birdbath Makeover

                                                                   Hello everyone,
We are finally getting into spring mode here as the weather
is warming up but I have to admit there is still patches of
around our garden. However, there is lots that can be
raked up etc. and lots of rebirth in the garden, even a few
                                 blooms.
Today, I want to share my new birdbath made from
                                   thrift shop finds.
The top was a sweet little find one day but I thought it
needed a little height for the garden so a week later
when I spotted an old stone lamp, I knew it would
                                       work for a pedestal.

My husband drilled a couple of screws into the base and it
is ready for the birds! It is so nice to see and hear all the
                                       birds in the garden again.

A sunny corner in the sunroom.
This is the last day to enter the giveaway for my latest
book Afternoon Tea at Aiken House & Gardens so
if you would like a chance to win a copy leave a
                                        comment here to enter.

Good morning, Carolyn! Thanks so much for coming by . . . because it brought me back to your lovely blog.
Your bird bath is beautiful. My little ones are always asking me to get one for our back yard. I'm thinking that this might be year :0)
Thanks so much for sharing!
Have a beautiful week,
Suzanne

What a sweet idea for a birdbath. It sure is nice to see the snow going but it will be a while before we enjoy spring blooms. Have a lovely week.

So glad your Easter was lovely. Susan

Carolyn, just wanted to tell you that I ordered your book (figuring I wouldn't win it anyway!), received it today (good service, by the way).
Oh -my - goodness! It is lovely & is displayed on my coffee table.
Thank you!

What is amazing to me is how you could have blooms in the garden when you just had 3 feet of snow a few weeks back! I am always wondering if you find some of those Florida Antique malls people talk about when you go for vacation. Someone told me it is because of all the retirees there.

Hi,
Did you paint the birdbath? Or was it already that color?
Beautiful idea.
Thank you for sharing.

Hi Bernideen,
I only went to one small antique mall while in Florida. Travelling with suitcases makes it harder to pick up treasures.I guess we could have them shipped though.
I do love some of the Antique malls in Maine though and then we at least have the trunk of a car.
Take care,
Carolyn

This is such an incredible idea. I would love to fix up my old bird bath and put it in my family room. It would really add a unique style to my home. Thank you so much for the great idea. It is imperative that I try this ASAP!

Great way to upcycle, Carolyn! I don't think we can ever have too many birdbaths in our gardens. We so love watching the birds line up for their baths. :)

It's been warmer here, too, but frosty tonight. I had to bring my newly potted plants in the garage. At least the sun was shining today!

Good Morning Carolyn,
I so like your idea for a bird bath, perhaps I will take a venture to the second hand store and see what is left, lol. I'm home not too long and I still have plenty of snow here. I've been cleaning little bits of the garden here and there as the snow melts but once the warmer weather is here it will be so much easier. Have a great day.
