Hello everyone,
I hope you are all enjoying this first weekend in February~ the month of
romance!
I welcomed in the month by enjoying some time curled up by our wood
burning fireplace with a good book and a cup of hot tea.We don't use this
fireplace often as our propane fireplace gives more heat for less work but
there is nothing quite as cozy to me as the crackle of a wood fire so once
in awhile we enjoy it.
Since a wood fireplace always reminds me of the scenes in Rosamunde
Pilcher's book Winter Solstice I decided to use my English teapot and
chintz teacup.
What about you .....do you enjoy curling up with a book and tea by the fireside? I
do have an extra chair and book for you. I am pretty sure I can find a tea cup for you!
I found another chintz teacup for you and some sheep cookies to go with our English tea.
deserve it after all!!!
I am joining Rose Chintz Cottage today for Tea Time Tuesday.
Thank you for stopping by,
Carolyn
Wonderful ... the best you can be in winter
ReplyDeleteLovely tea time.
ReplyDeleteSo warm and toasty!
February smiles ;)
All my heart,
Deborah xo
A wonderful fireside tea, Carolyn. I love your tea things and the sheep cookies are darling! I'm glad February is here. We're that much closer to springtime. Enjoy your evening.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
Thank you Carolyn for such a romantic atmosphere, is there anything better for begin this lovely month?!?
ReplyDeleteI love sipping hot tea by the fireside while reading, thank you for the chair you've deserved for me, and for the book too <3
I wish you a lovely new week coming.xo

How fun! Winter Soltice is a yearly winter read for me. I am making a cup of chai tea as I read this. Thanks for the pretty pictures.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo!
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Poland :)
How lovely! Our minds were on tea here on the Other Island as well!
ReplyDeleteWhat a warm and cozy spot to enjoy a little me time and a nice cup of tea. Very lovely. Happy Sunday Carolyn.
ReplyDeleteYou've creating a beautiful scenario, Carolyn. I hope you lingered by the crackling fire for awhile.
ReplyDeleteKaren
Carolyn, you are an inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThere is definitely something to be said about sipping tea by the fireplace. Soooo relaxing. Especially when it is snowy and blowy outside. This looks so comfortable, I just want to curl up under the blanket and sip tea with you ~
ReplyDeleteI would love to have tea with you! I was taking pictures of my tea in front of the fire today, and my tea cup matches your tea pot! Everything looks lovely, and I love Rosamunde Pilcher too.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so cozy and warm by the fire, Carolyn. I love your teapot and chintz teacups. I don't have a fireplace to cozy up to so use a nice throw to keep me warm some days. I would love to join you for tea and a cookie, or two. :)
ReplyDeleteCarolyn I just was reading about you in the May issue of Romantic Homes in 2012. Of course you are my favorite site and I have your first book, a gift from my daughter in Ontario. We are both in your fanclub and would love to visit your corner of the world.
ReplyDeleteI always love your garden pictures, the barn, the pond scenes but my heart does a double beat when you take us into your home. Love this cozy, warm post by the firelight. Thanks for inviting us in for an enjoyable viewing.
With joy & gratitude,
Sylvia Faye
Carolyn ...Hi ..I have been following you blog for almost a year now and have never commented ...I just want you to know you are a total inspiration to me and I try new things out in my home most days and just the smallest thing gives me delight ..I have put spring bulbs in to old quirky items I have found at thrift stores and am enjoying them so much
ReplyDeleteI look forward to seeing what you have posted everyday and usually view it drinking a cup of tea from a fine cup ...being British living in America ..I do enjoy those little moments of home
Blessing to you and I can't wait to see what else you will show us ..Kindest regards
Wish I could join you as well, for a cup of tea by the crackling fire. Here in Oregon, it is snowing out and I have the propane fireplace running. No wood fires for us, but I used to have a woodstove which was my only heat (years ago when I was young and able to chop and carry wood)! My mom had relatives in England and when she would visit them, she would always bring me back a china teacup. That was years and years ago, but I still have several that I have saved over the years. I cherish them, and now and then use one for my own sweet cup of tea. Thank you for the teacup memories.

ReplyDeleteA très bientôt.

Such warmth and serene to be curled in front of a fire and reading a book. I'd love to join you, thanks for the offer, I'd love to have your tea cup it is beautiful. I still find time to read every now and then. When I walk I have a book on audio, when I sit right now I'm reading The Help, when we are on the road we have CD's, yesterday I took a rocking chair and sat in the blazing sun and read random paperback that I found in my daughter's house i'm visiting right now in NC.
ReplyDeleteI don't often see you visiting my blog and I'm going to be as bold to put a link to it here, perhaps you will visit and when I return to the Island we can meet some day. http://hats-n-hospitalitea-cindy.blogspot.com/2014/01/grow-your-blog-party-giveaway.html

Oh I would love to join you by the fire there....and have some tea in one of your gorgeous chintz tea cups! You and I both shared chintz this week. It is just so beautiful.
