Romantic Fireside Tea

                                                                     Hello everyone,
I hope you are all enjoying this first weekend in February~ the month of
                              romance!
I welcomed in the month by enjoying some time curled up by our wood
burning fireplace with a good book and a cup of hot tea.We don't use this
fireplace often as our propane fireplace gives more heat for less work but
there is nothing quite as cozy to me as the crackle of a wood fire so once
                             in awhile we enjoy it.

Since a wood fireplace always reminds me of the scenes in Rosamunde
Pilcher's book Winter Solstice I decided to use my English teapot and
                               chintz teacup.

What about you .....do you enjoy curling up with a book and tea by the fireside? I
do have an extra chair and book for you. I am pretty sure I can find a tea cup for you!

I found another chintz teacup for you and some sheep cookies to go with our English tea.

I hope you are relaxing on this lovely Sunday afternoon ~ so nice to treat yourself! You
                       deserve it after all!!!

I am joining Rose Chintz Cottage today for Tea Time Tuesday.

                                                              Thank you for stopping by,

                                                                                           Carolyn

  11. There is definitely something to be said about sipping tea by the fireplace. Soooo relaxing. Especially when it is snowy and blowy outside. This looks so comfortable, I just want to curl up under the blanket and sip tea with you ~

  13. It looks so cozy and warm by the fire, Carolyn. I love your teapot and chintz teacups. I don't have a fireplace to cozy up to so use a nice throw to keep me warm some days. I would love to join you for tea and a cookie, or two. :)

  14. Carolyn I just was reading about you in the May issue of Romantic Homes in 2012. Of course you are my favorite site and I have your first book, a gift from my daughter in Ontario. We are both in your fanclub and would love to visit your corner of the world.
I always love your garden pictures, the barn, the pond scenes but my heart does a double beat when you take us into your home. Love this cozy, warm post by the firelight. Thanks for inviting us in for an enjoyable viewing.
    With joy & gratitude,
    Sylvia Faye

  16. Wish I could join you as well, for a cup of tea by the crackling fire. Here in Oregon, it is snowing out and I have the propane fireplace running. No wood fires for us, but I used to have a woodstove which was my only heat (years ago when I was young and able to chop and carry wood)! My mom had relatives in England and when she would visit them, she would always bring me back a china teacup. That was years and years ago, but I still have several that I have saved over the years. I cherish them, and now and then use one for my own sweet cup of tea. Thank you for the teacup memories.

  20. Such warmth and serene to be curled in front of a fire and reading a book. I'd love to join you, thanks for the offer, I'd love to have your tea cup it is beautiful. I still find time to read every now and then. When I walk I have a book on audio, when I sit right now I'm reading The Help, when we are on the road we have CD's, yesterday I took a rocking chair and sat in the blazing sun and read random paperback that I found in my daughter's house i'm visiting right now in NC.

I don't often see you visiting my blog and I'm going to be as bold to put a link to it here, perhaps you will visit and when I return to the Island we can meet some day. http://hats-n-hospitalitea-cindy.blogspot.com/2014/01/grow-your-blog-party-giveaway.html
