Details

Hello Everyone,
I hope you enjoyed your weekend. We had a family birthday party at our house as two of our sons celebrate their birthday on Tuesday.
I made a little change in our bedroom- this chair was in our library before and I thought it would look good here and the chaise that used to be here is now by the fireplace in the library. The brass on the fireplace got it's coat of black paint-looks so much better.

This is the bath off our bedroom and I like how it flows with the new color. The bathtub is an old cast iron tub.

I love the little details in a room.

This little sunroom is off our bathroom.

Well, just a few little details from our bedroom and bath.

I am joining the house of roses for Show Off your Cottage Monday.

Happy Monday!

Carolyn

Charming and lovely. I agree with you, the fireplace look wonderful painted black and I think the chair is perfect for the room. The bathroom is charming and I adore the sunroom. What a lovely place to sit with a cup of tea and a good book.

Hi Carolyn,
I adore your bathroom! I dream of a tub like this and the bead board with the wall paper is just one of my all time favorite things in a bathroom. I would lock the door and never come out...LOL well maybe to eat because I love to eat..hehehe
A very pretty post I enjoyed it very much!
Have a sweet day, Elizabeth

You have a lovely home. I have always wanted to go with the soft white and pale sage colors in my home. One day! For now I will just visit your blog for inspiration.

How lovely, Carolyn! It all looks so fresh and pretty. Love the chair by the fireplace and the fireplace really looks great with the black.
Happy Birthday to your boys, and stay snug with another storm on the way! Wouldn't it be nice if it missed us?

Blessings,
Sandi

You are truly a designer extraordinnaire.

I could spend hours looking at your beautiful designs, Carolyn.

I absolutley love your newly redone bedroom - and that bath is a magical place - I would turn into a prune soaking in that tub for hours at a time.

Just breathtaking!

Beautiful as usual Carolyn<3

p.s. I sent you an e-mail asking you if you could share how you whitwashed the inside of your little cottage? Is it pine boards in the cottage?
We want to whitwash some tongue and groove pine boards in the house and we're not sure how to do it. Using paint or stain and watering it down?
Blessings Caroly and keep up the beautiful photos.

Hi Carolyn, Everything is so beautiful, as always. I'm very intrigued by the little sun porch off the bathroom – I don't think I've seen that before but it's charming.

I think I need a few sun porches! We are having beautiful weather now. Hope you are, too! – g

Everything is lovely as always, but the first thing I noticed filled me with horror! The lamp perched precariously on the edge of the sink filled with water. Who did you plan to electrocute? Hee hee. It is a lovely picture anyway.

Seeing these lovely photos made me very aware of how spartan and practical (and small!) my bathroom is. I must try and improve things this summer!

I've been inspired by your home and garden for years. I often see things I have in my own home, so we must be kindred spirits. I just bought a delicate crocheted tablecloth on eBay to hang at the end of my claw foot tub. Wondering how you hung your curtains around yours?
