Calling all Dollhouse Lovers

Hello Everyone!
As I was looking at this photo from inside our little garden cottage ,the dollhouse that I bought from a thrift shop in Bangor,Maine reminded me of some photos I took at Lucy's Dollhouse in Camden Maine.

I was given permission to take a few pictures and I thought you might enjoy seeing them even though they were taken 4 years ago with my old camera

This shop is a haven for all doll house lover's -it had beautiful miniature furniture and other antique toys as well.

Just look at all the beautiful miniature furniture they have.

They specialize in unique dollhouse's and accessories and they do have an online shop here if you are interested.I would love to go back someday for another look around-I love the shop but also this entire town on the coast of Maine is just full of charm!

Also of special interest to all you miniature lovers is a beautiful blog called Cynthia's Cottage Design-please go and have a peek around. You'll be glad you did!
Also, Sandy at Gramma's Little House shared a beautiful miniature make over in her dollhouse that I enjoyed seeing.

I know I mentioned that my daughters and I were going to see The Vow last night and I have to say we were all a bit disappointed in it as it was a little to light on the story for our taste-just sharing our opinion on it.

Thank you for visiting me today.

Carolyn

Oh my gosh, what a WONDERFUL post. I've always loved dollhouses and miniatures.

My grandfather made me a dollhouse when I was little. I would display and fix it all up, but my cat thinks it's a hidey-hole made specifically for her enjoyment. Lol!

These are beautiful. I know I would proberbly want one if I saw them. The second photo has a small child in a wash tub! I can recall seeing a photo of one of my relatives in a tub like that! I was young and had never seen a tub like that, thought it was a funny looking swimming pool until my mom told me it was the bathtub! I told her I was happy we had a bigger tub. haha..what great pictures.

Hi Carolyn....Even though I don't comment frequently, I do still read your posts and wanted to tell you that your white dollhouse at the top is the same exact dollhouse I put together almost 20 years ago. It is on my blog if you would like to read about it. One of my posts is of how I decorated it for Christmas. Thanks for sharing those other dollhouses! So pretty! I am also a follower of Cynthia's and really enjoy her talent as a miniaturist!~Hugs, Patti

Aren't they stunning? I love yours, too, Carolyn! My Dad did a dollhouse for my daughter and that is one thing we most definitely brought with us when we moved. It will need a makeover and, while it may take me a little while to do, if I start sometime this year, it will be ready for my little granddaughter to play with when she's a good age for it. I've been drooling over some dollhouse furniture on Etsy, but I have to make sure I check the size and get the right furniture. I'm looking forward to doing it!

Looking at these miniature creations, I wish I had of had a doll house growing up. They are perfect for a little girl's imagination.
Too bad the movie was disappointing but at least the girls had a night out.

Your dollhouse is beautiful! And so are the others you have shown us. I adore dollhouses. I had several as a child and I am still in love with all dollhouses. My mother was an antiques buyer for a store and she would bring home sample books of fabrics for curtains, drapes and rugs and I would use all of the samples in my dollhouses. As much as I loved dollhouses as a child, I think I love them even more as an adult!
What a fun post. Thank you!

I'm commenting at a bizarrely early hour - I couldn't sleep. It's been a trouble the last few nights. The funny thing about it is that as I've been tossing and turning, I've often been dreaming about doll houses! I don't remember seeing this post but, somehow, I must have. Either that or we're severely great minds....;) I've been thinking about my mom's doll house - she has a lovely Edwardian one - a place of wonder! =]

Thank you for sharing the store, too! I was just reminiscing about special trips, out of the way, to visit stores that are long gone, now, and wishing...

I have so many more thoughts but I think that a few pleasant visits in blogland has done it's soothing and soporific job and I'll try to get a few more winks in before the sun comes up.... =]
