Christmas Goodies

Hello everyone,
With the holiday season upon us there is always lots to do so it is nice to take a break and relax for awhile  and enjoy some holiday goodies. This afternoon as I was giving our little cottage another once over so it would be ready for the tour on Saturday I treated myself to an afternoon break. Instead of my usual tea I enjoyed a glass of delicious eggnog with some yogurt covered pretzels.
They are a bit addictive for me.

A little cheesecake to give me some energy!
Maybe I should curl up on the bed and really relax.
After seeing the beautiful mantels at Fanningbank yesterday-I think this one could use a little more fluffing but it is only a humble cottage.

I am slowly getting the house ready for the "Homes for the Holidays' tour on Saturday evening and next week I will take some photos of it to share with you. We are getting our tree in the next couple of days and I am looking forward to being able to kick back and enjoy the fruits of our labor soon!
It was +10 Celsius here today which is very mild for us with rain tomorrow. I am hoping for just a little dusting of snow for the tour but we shall have to wait and see.
My daughter has been  making cookies for the tour and one of my other daughters has her home on the tour so she has been busy too.
Tomorrow I am going to visit Janice who graciously opened up her beautiful home for the tour also and I hope to take some pictures to share with you as well. I am looking forward to seeing it all decked out for the holidays.
Well,my little break is over and I have enjoyed my holiday goodies!

I am joining Rose  Chintz Cottage for a Holiday Christmas Tea.

Thank you for visiting with me.

Take care,
Carolyn

I love your photos. They are so beautiful, but your home always is. My Hubby got me addicted to those pretzels a few years ago. They are good.

Hi Carolyne
Wow! It looks all so romantic at your home. Mmmmh, eggnog... I just love it. When I was a teenager my grandmother loved to drink a little glass with me :o).
I especially loved the plaid on your bed. I'm looking for such a plaid in blue, but I guess I have to sew it by myself.
Have a nice time and take care

Oh! I'd like to have such a "only a humble cottage" very much! It's a dream of my life...
I like your home very much, I like your photos and your blog. Thank you for this beauty!

P.S. And sorry for my English, if it wrong, I'm Russian :))

It's so exciting, Carolyn! I would love to visit a tour of homes at this time of year. Your cottage looks so pretty! I think the mantel is just right and I love your tree. I haven't bought egg nog in years, although I always enjoyed it. No one else would drink it in my house. Right now I have the egg nog flavored creamer for my coffee, which I am thoroughly enjoying! Can't wait to see the pictures.

Your mantel is just perfect, please don't change a thing! I much prefer your decorating to a large historic home. Yours is always so cozy and gives a feeling of peace and comfort.
Wishing you a good week and fun
during your home tours.

I hope you have nice weather for the house tour, maybe even a few snowflakes floating down from above?

Hi Carolyn, Your sitting room is stunning in white! I absolutely love it. Your snack looks great too. I have been buying "milk nog" (lighter version of egg nog) and I like it heated. I also like adding it instead of milk to a cup of hot tea. Good luck with the tour! I know your home will be much loved and oohed and ahed over!
Merry Christmas!
