The Little Details

Hello everyone,
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Today, I want to share some of the little details in the Christmas Cottage. On the corner cupboard above I added greenery to the cream dishes for a holiday look.

On the french style vanity there are some feminine touches.
This antique was given to me by my 94 year old neighbor whose maiden aunt made this nightgown out of flour bags and beautiful hand crochet lace..I was given two of these treasures and I happily display them in our guest room.
This antique lace doily with the angels on it came from the 70 mile yardsale and it is over 100 years old.
I love this angel that I bought a few years ago at TJMAXX.
I have a collection of father Christmas'.
Curl up in bed with a tea tray.
Or maybe you like to knit-I used to knit  sweaters, mitts and little dresses etc. when my children were small
I can't resist angels

Love candlelight too.
Sweet little handmade mittens.
Small Christmas trees-did you know you can make your old green ones ivory, by soaking them in bleach for awhile?

Who could resist this reproduction doll-I made her little dress several years ago.

Well, that is some of the little details in the Christmas Cottage.

It seems my Canon Rebel camera which I love has wore out, (it keeps coming up error) so unless Santa comes early I am going to be going through withdrawal!

Thank you to all who left so many kind words on the Christmas Cottage and welcome to all my new followers too- I am happy to have all of you!

Take care,
Carolyn

Que encanto. Quero detalhes parecidos em minha nova casa, pois esses tons "brancos" descansam a alma e como eu lido constantemente com cores seria uma renovação aquietar-se num lugar assim. Boa semana, amiga.

Carolyn, what a joy it is to visit Prince Edward Island and enter your lovely cottage here in cyber-space. I have enjoyed my early morning visit here as I drank in all of the beauty and charm of your lovely cottage!

Oh I I loved the Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea, along with the series Road to Avonlea! Each time I watch them I long to journey there.

Your blog is the next best thing! I loved listening to Josh Grobin and the other beautiful music here. You have brought peace and contentment to my morning...and now I am off to the kitchen for my first cup of tea.

All in the Christmas Cottage is so beautiful now in snowy, ethereal white! The tiny Santa on the mantle is so sweet - is that firewood he's carrying on his back? And, the dress you sewed for the doll is beautiful - what talents you have been blessed with, my good friend!

Wishing you and yours a lovely week, Carolyn.

Dear Carolyn,

Those mittens look so sweet. Do you still knit them for your grandchildren? I love the way your cottage looks. What a beautiful present the nightgown is. It fits in perfectly!

Wish you a happy new week!

Carolyn, your posts bring peace and beauty to my day. The nightgown made of flour bags and lace reminds me of my aunt. And I love angels too.

Thank you for the little Christmas details tour. It was very soothing at the end of my day. I have white feather trees also! How I adore them too.

I would guess Christmas will come early at your house with a Black Friday camera ; )

Everything is so beautiful! Thank you for the tip about the little green trees!

Regarding your camera: When I was taking a photography class I kept getting an error message on my Canon. The instructor had me change flash cards and that was the problem. My card was corrupted. I hope your fix is as simple as that! If not, a new camera would be a delightful gift for you!
