A Simple White Tea

Hello everyone,
We had some sunshine today but it was cool so I happily stayed indoors and did some tidying up and some baking. The garden is coming along nicely and I don't think the weeds have anywhere to grow now so it should be easy sailing (well, gardening) for awhile.
I like to set up a pretty tea in our sunroom for our house and garden tour so I thought I would snap a few pictures while I was at it.
This little teaset came home with me from Halifax as my  daughter MADE me buy it! It was on clearance at Wicker Emporium and I argued with her that I did not need another teaset but she insisted- bad girl Jen! He He!
Those sparkly diamonds are just so pretty-don't you think?

The lilac is called Primrose and it has a creamy yellow tinge to it when it first comes into bloom.

I am using this pretty thrift shop tablecloth that was just a couple of dollars and has beautiful hand work on it.

It is going to be a sunny weekend here and I am looking forward to sharing our home and garden with the lovely people from Japan on Saturday afternoon and again on Monday morning.

I am happily joining Bernideen for her Saturday Garden Tea Party, so go and pay her a visit if you have not already done so.

For those of you who asked for my biscuit recipe for the shortcake post please click here.

I hope you all have a bright and sunny weekend!

Carolyn

oh carolyn, it is always such a pleasure to see the beauty here at your blog! don't you love when the garden is so filled that the "weeds have nowhere to grow"? it's still 95+ degrees here in the south and no rain......makes gardening kind of uncomfortable.
happy weekend to you,
erin

Good evening Carolyn
Your new tea set is glorious! Yes we did sell our home..in only two weeks and the couple that purchased it are buying allot of our Antique furniture so I am happy about that. We have a month where we have both places so once we get moved July 4th I will have a big house sale and sell the rest of out collections. Have a great weekend!

Hi Carolyn
The new tea set is just adorable, you couldn't have passed it by, could you? :-)
Our bus tour is coming tomorrow and the weatherman is calling for rain but I hope it holds off. Good luck with your group.

Carolyn!

Gorgeous photos as always. I just purchased the very same tea set at Wicker Emporium! It came with a sweet white iron rack for hanging the cups and stacking the plates. I love the sparkly bling for a change on the table. Lol I intend to use it for a fun tea occasion. My husband is amazed that you and I have such similar tastes...Enjoy your Japanese guests and have a beautiful weekend.

Cheers,
Linda

Oh,I loved seeing the white tea set up, Carolyn. Can I come visit with the Japanese tourists? We had two foreign exchanged students from Japan and loved them so much.

Take care and have fun! Susan

Dearest Carolyn,

What a beautiful and dreamy tea... I envy you for those perfect lilacs; my favorite color! Jen was not stupid for making you purchase these cups. So special and they fit your table well. Guests will be impressed by it.

Have a lovely weekend.

Lots of love,

Mariette

Your tea set is pretty :) :) I've never seen tea things with rhinestones. So this is a first for me :) :) I like all the sparkle. A woman can never have to much sparkle in her life ;) :)

The heart-shaped cookie looks delicious :) :)

Have a great weekend. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

Your tea seat is perfection! We don't have a Wicker Emporium here in the U.S. I don't think they ship items either.

We need a buyer up in Canada for us U.S. folks...there are so many of us that would love to have a set like that!
