Cottage Blues

Hello everyone,
I am so glad you came to visit me today because I have been playing in our little garden cottage again. I decided to try a different color scheme with a few things I already had. The chenille bedspread I bought at a thrift shop a few years ago and I paid less then $2. for it.

As many of you know our little cottage has been furnished with  mostly second hand 'stuff '.

The scrolled iron mirror on the wall is the exception as it came from Homesense a few years ago and is usually out on the veranda in the summer.

Sadly, I am back to faux flowers as my garden has past. The little teapot was a yardsale find that matched my color scheme nicely. So,how about a spot of tea or would you prefer some hot chocolate?
The bed canopy also came from the 70 mile yard sale last year. I love the soft romantic look it gives the old iron bed.

The pretty bowl is one of the few things I found at Homesense on our girls day out trip.I enjoyed the day but did not find as much to tempt me as I had hoped although my armoire has a few new sweaters!

I have a few more photos to share with you but that will be another post- I hope you will be back!

We had a ton of rain on the weekend but still very mild temperatures for this time of year. However, I am hoping we get some sunshine soon.
I have been working on starting a Christmas blog so I will let you know when it is ready.

I just realized that I have reached the 1000 followers mark!!! Thank you to all of you who follow- I so enjoy sharing with all of you-THANK YOU so much!

Today I am joining Cielo at The House in the Roses for ' Show off your cottage Monday'. I hope you will have some time to check it out if you haven't already.
I am also joining Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage for her lovely TeaTime Tuesday. Thank you Sandi and Cielo for hosting these lovely parties.

Thank you for visiting,

Carolyn

I love the new look in your cottage! It could work well with icey winter and Christmas coming soon. We had about 90 mm of rain here but Moncton and southern N.B. and N.S got way too much. I think one place, Mechanic Sett. got 300 plus mm. (It's outside of Moncton). Better than snow though!

Congrats on reaching 1,000 followers! I love everything about your blue/white cottage bedroom. I love chenille bedspreads and yours is so pretty and what a bargain at just $2. I bought a pretty one white vintage one with blue in it several years ago at a gift shop. It was marked $50 and the owner gave it to me for $40. I bought another one through LL Bean but it isn't close to the softness of my vintage one. I like them cause we can leave them on the bed as an extra blanket and they wash up so nicely.

Dearest Carolyn,

That is a lovely blue display in such a pleasant hue... Love the bedspread with the roses. Your fake peony looks so real that it could pass for one!
Thanks for such a romantic presentation.

Well that bedspread is certainly a show stopper! I think it must be Bates in a lovely color. Your snowflake lantern is a beauty too. A change in color can be so dramatic! Congratulations on your milestone! You have made so many people happy! Jacqueline

Hi Carolyn,
Isn't this weather amazing for November? We did get a lot of rain but the temperatures have been so mild. I'll take it!
I love the soft blue or is it aqua in your little cottage? Very pretty and dreamy! Love the bedspread and the canopy. Sweet little tea pot too! I look forward to seeing your new Christmas blog. I have had one since the Fall of '09. I like the new look of your blog too BTW! I'm going up to the Homestead at the end of the week. Hopefully they have some nice goodies there.

Blessings,
Sandi

Your garden cottage looks so cosy and inviting. Your decorating is as always just delightful. I love that little blue and white dotted candle holder and the knitted cushion cover. Was that made from a jumper?
