Calling all Dish Lovers!

Hello everyone,
I remember the days when my sister and I used to fight over whose turn it was to wash the dishes-did you all do that too? Oh! and I do remember the day I was carrying a big stack of my Mom's dishes and I dropped the whole stack smashing them all on the floor-ouch! was my Mom cross!!! Sorry about that Mom- now that I am a dish lover I totally understand.
Anyway, today I thought you might enjoy watching me wash my pretty dishes.
I love all these dainty dishes!
Don't worry I am being extra careful-I won't break any today(and yes,Lacy if you are watching that is my pretty apron from England).
I don't know why My sister and I fought over doing the dishes -it is actually kind of fun now!
Some pretty vintage linens.
I hope I haven't lost you, because I think they are looking so pretty!
I found a new little teapot for one today and I couldn't resist it!
Isn't it so dainty?
My roses are blooming so I picked a little bouquet for you.
Well , I am supposed to be cooking dinner before my sister gets back so don't tell her that I was playing with my dishes-okay?
Thank you for visiting me and I will be very careful putting my dishes away-I did learn that lesson very well !!!
Carolyn

You know, I had forgotten all about the fights over having to "do the dishes"! How ironic now when, like you, I have grown to love dishes and am only too happy to do the delicate/special ones I have by hand. Thanks for reminding me! Of course, your pics make dish-washing look like a dream job!

I don't think I have ever seen washing dishes look quite that pretty or fun! My sister who older than me used to pretend she had to go to the bathroom when it was time to do the dishes. It was a joke in our house! She must have thought we believed her! LOL

My brother and I fought about it too. And can you believe it? I also dropped a stack of pf ,y Mom's plates - thankfully it wasn't her Royal Dalton petit point china - she must have forgiven me because she gave those dishes to me :)

Love your linens and the new teapot for one!

Hi Carolyn,
Your dishes are very pretty! I never had to fight with my sister over the dishes because there were almost ten years between us. It was always MY job! Actually, I don't believe my sister ever had to do the dishes. She was quite spoiled, you see.
Your new teapot is just darling! Where on earth did you find it? Your roses are the most beautiful and delicate shade of pink; love 'em! I bet they smell good too!

Blessings,
Sandi

What a delightful posting. I love your dishes.
I used to hate to wash dishes too and mentioned that to my mother-in-law once. She replied that she also hated it but then she was thankful that she had food to feed her family and if there was no food, then there would be no dirty dishes. After that she and I both washed dishes with gusto... never to complain again!
Have a great evening!

Dear Carolyn, These are such pretty and delicate dishes
...I luvs 'em I do!

I can see why you collect these pretties. They are so sweet.

I have an older sister and as children she always washed and I dried. Hehehe
I'd tell her that she didn't get the item clean and back she had to wash it all over again.

We have fond memories of making homemade pizza together and washing the dishes.

God bless and may you have a sweet week.

Always a delight to visit your place,
d

Oh me, I too dropped a stack of about 10 of my mothers good china. It was after Sunday dinner and I washed and dried, was putting them on the counter and they only made it half of the way. She has just in the last 2 years given me the remaining pieces. I did buy her a set of more durable stoneware.

It is a wonderful idea to make a post about washing dishes if they are so pretty as yours. I´m a dish lover (especially with roses on it) too but have not so much and beautifully porcelain as you. So it is a pleasure for me to see all your wonderful treasures.

Hello, Carolyn, I've just had the loveliest catch up, here! I don adore the dishes - thanks for sharing. It's funny, seeing pictures of you "working" was very soothing and happy!=]

I loved the tour of PEI! I have ALWAYS wanted to go there. Not only do I love Anne of GGs but, I love anything to do with "Maritime". When I lived in California, there seemed to be no hope. Now, I live within a (long) days driving distance. So close, yet, so far away. I will just have to make do with your photos for the time being!

Love, Katy Noelle

That's such a beautiful post! Love your photos!!! Those dishes are gorgeous...
I also fought with my sister, usually because she would look at the calendar each year mom would make us 'sign up' for days to wash dishes, and pick out all the days that DIDN"T have holidays, and she would get the easy day, I would get all the holidays!! Never was fair to me. Hope I get the dishes!!!
Blessings!
