Lupin Lane

Hello everyone,

This is lupin season here on the Island and I love how pretty they look growing wild along the roadsides.

These lupins are growing along the ditch on the little country road by our house that we walk everyday.

Actually, we helped these lupins along by spreading seeds a few years ago as we walked along the road.

Although purple is the dominate color,we do have a pretty good mix.

You can see the road is not paved and has little traffic so I enjoy the peaceful beauty of our walks.

I love this bi color mauve one

I hope you enjoyed the stroll down lupin lane with me this bright and beautiful sunny morning. We are off for a lovely breakfast with good friends at one of our favorite summer places.

Have a wonderful day,

Carolyn

Dear Carolyn,

What a good idea to spread the seeds! It must be a joy to walk along Lupin lane. Thank you for taking us along. The colours of the lupins are beautiful. We have them in our garden as well, but not in that soft pale pastel colour. It's very pretty!

Have a nice day!

Lieve groet, Madelief

Hi Carolyn, I love lupins. How wonderful to have them growing from seed in wild places. I wonder if I could try that in my garden here in England. Could you tell me the variety of the seed and I will try and acquire some, I'd love to give it a go. Eli.

Oh, goodness, I've missed so many posts but I've been in heaven, immersing myself in catch up. I left a message on the post before this one but, now, I think that I'll just combine the rest into this one.

Carolyn, between you and Mia's Landliv, I've just had a very refreshing half hour!!! Lilacs happen to bloom in my very favorite color(s). The Picasa album, when it opened up, just made me gasp and my heart go pitter patter. Really! I love lilac and blue together - with subtle green, too. Your blue table is very noteworthy and the photos of the bouquets of lilacs on all of your tables are inspiring. Thanks for taking the time out to share all of this. It is encouraging and happy making!

Love, katy

I love, love, love lupines! The only place I've ever lived where they grew wild was OR. I so enjoyed them while there. I have lots of photos of them, and will have to post some now and again. Your photos are beautiful! ♥

Your Lupines remind me of my garden when we lived in Great Britain. Beautiful photos.

I just returned from my very first visit to Maine, and was just in awe of the fields and ditches of lupins. Absolutely stunning! It reminded me of one of my favorite children's book - Miss Rumphius - do you know it? You are just like Miss R, spreading beauty where ever you go. Thank you for sharing your pictures with all of us.

I will be posting pictures of our trip in the next few days - stop in to see beautiful Maine. We stayed in a room in a B and B that reminded me of your lovely home:-)

Oh, Carolyn, those were enchanting. Have you read the fabulous childrens' book, "Miss Rumphius?" It's all about lupins and how she made the world a better place by planting hundreds of them! (But I think they were spelled lupines). You'd LOVE the book if you haven't read it! Susan
