Tea Time

Hi everyone,

I am glad you stopped by for a cup of tea.

I made some lovely buttermilk biscuits for us today. Biscuits are my husbands favorite baked treat but I made a double batch so there is some for all of us!

I am using up our homemade jam because the rhubarb is coming along nicely so I will soon make a new patch of jam.

I am happy to be able to pick flowers from the garden once again. The tulips are starting to bloom now along with narcissus etc.

The new Victoria is out and it is so beautiful-I would have bought it for the cover alone!

But inside there is lots of beauty.

Doesn't it say summer!

Thank you to all who have left such nice comments lately on my blog and I am sorry to not get back to you but this is a very busy time in the garden for us(our garden covers 2 1/2 acres) and we have tours starting early next month.

I would like to thank Madeline over at http://theshabbyvanity.blogspot.com/ for the lovely new blog background she did for me -I love it!
I am looking forward to the Victorian Tea Party over at Cielo's The House in the Roses on Monday- why don't you join in too?

Now I am joining in with Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage for her Teatime Tuesday again this week - why don't you join her for a cup of tea too!

Thank you for visiting,

Carolyn

It is so good to see flowers from your garden again. I too have acres of garden to get ready but our weather has gone from the 70's to the 30's. I have had to move all the annuals to the garage with grow lights. Unbelievalbe. Also 15 yds of mulch awaits my return.... so your post was a welcome site to see today. There is still hope.

Those are some tall biscuits! You should post that recipe. I've got some raspberry jam that needs a good home. :)

Carolyn, your tea setting is so pretty. My husband loves biscuits and preserves, too.

We have been very busy outside, but the beautiful blooms make it all worthwhile.

Thanks for the wonderful biscuits and tea, Carolyn. Was that strawberry-rhubarb jam? Mmmmmm. Yummy. Wow! Would I ever like a tour of your garden. Sounds wonderful. Do you have it open to the public? It sounded like a tourist stop? Love your new background. Love EVERYTHING about your blog, including you! You are so creative and sweet, too. Ha! Sincerely, Susan

Carolyn, your tea is so pretty to look at as usual.
I am learning so much about staging for photos since I started blogging. A magazine article I did last year was on garden parties and I always do my own photography but have I improved since then!
Thank you for inspiring me with your photos.
Victoria has been my favourite magazine for a long time and I never tire of looking through old issues.
Happy Gardening!

Your new blog background is really pretty :-) And your buttermilk biscuits with homemade jam look delicious!!

All the hydrangea pictures in the magazine have me swooning!! Blue hydrangeas are my favourite flower :-)

Hope you're having fun working in your garden. 2-1/2 acres is a lot of ground to cover, but I think it's totally worth the effort to grow all your beautiful flowers :-)

Thanks for posting about our giveaway on your sidebar. Good luck!!

I always feel like I'm in Anne of Green Gables country when I visit you. I loved that serie and have it on DVD, lol. Your house is certainly more beautiful than the one they had in the serie though. Not to mention all the lovely flowers you have on your pictures.

I would love to have the recipe on those goodies. Looked just awesome with the jam on.

Hope you have a nice day.
Love Elzie

Carolyn,
This is beautiful. I love the color of your tulips and daffodils. It is so pretty in the vase you used, which I want to say looks like a canning jar. I love flowers in those. I can't wait to see more of your garden.:)

It's a good thing you don't live close by. You might have a constant visitor, or a permanent one! Stunninly beautiful!

Hi Carolyn
So nice to have a cup of tea with you and you have some of my rosy plates too.

I look forward to seeing the garden soon. I have been so busy with my garden but just had my trip to Monet's garden which I have posted the first post on.

Have a lovely season with your tours what a pity you are so far across the pond I would have enjoyed a visit to your lovely garden.
