Happy May Day!

Isn't it hard to believe it is May already? In honor of the first day of May I have a small bouquet for you.

I wasn't sure if I liked it with blue or just white.

I love this old vase that I got last year at an antique mall in Kennebunkport Maine.

I was babysitting six of our little grandchildren this afternoon for awhile so after they left I needed some down time so I played with my camera for awhile. I still have trouble getting the light right shooting to a window so if you have any tips for me I am happy to hear them.

Anyway, Happy May Day!

Carolyn

Your flowers are lovely, Carolyn. Love what you did with the fireplace; amazing! Nice chair too. My hubby just cut the grass for the first time this year; must be the earliest ever. Hope you're having a beautiful weekend.

Blessings,
Sandi

We have been working in the yard all day. Something I love to do.

Hello Carolyn...Loved the hyacynths. Oh, their fragrance was so beautiful, too, coming straight through the computer screen! Ahhhhhhh.

When I do a window shot, I always shoot from the side of the window, looking at the object. With the sun behind, it usually results in silhouettes. You did a great job though. They shots were lovely. Sincerely, Susan

The arrangement is beautiful in the blue and white vase. If I have a choice I like the blue stem in with the white. Valerie

Carolyn, these are lovely hyacinths. Too hot here now for hyacinths so thank you for sharing these. That sweet vase is the perfect container. I think your photos are very good, but I know what you mean about trying to shoot something with the bright light behind in the window. I need help too.

Your white hyacinths look perfect in that blue vase! The photos look fine to me, soft and dreamy as it is meant to be for that subject...

Your photographs are absolutely gorgeous, Carolyn! (You can "bounce" some light into the shadow area by holding a large white board, like a piece of foam core, underneath and tilting it until you see the dark area brighten up. You can prop it on a chair or low table just below your pitcher and that should help balance out the light ratio between the indoor objects and the window.) Have a beautiful Sunday. – g

It is such a gloomy, dreary day here. I decided to take a little "vacation" and search the web. Your wonderful blog helped chase away the blahs.

Oh My Goodness...babysitting six at one time...I would be exhausted for sure. Love the grandbabies, and yet I think I might need some down time as well.

You have such a nice collection of pretties and I sure enjoy seeing what you do with them.
Have a sweet week!
