Green Envy

Hello everyone,

I think any of you that have been visiting for awhile know that I love tranferware in all colors and toile in almost all colors. So today I want to show you a few green and white treasures that I have.

The quilt on the bottom is from my daughter Emily and the vase was a birthday gift from a friend.

This platter was a yard sale find a few years ago.

This mug was a gift also from the same good friend=it almost makes me glad I have a birthday every year!

The pretty pillow is from a lovely gift shop here called Tole and Treasures-open in the summer.

Are you green with envy? Probably not yet, but they are pretty don't you think?

Thank you for visiting and I hope you will come again!

Carolyn

  1. Carolyn .. my dear thank you for such great support as I feel'green' with melancholy over the illness right now with no improvement and today she cried in my arms, I know it's time and she's telling me so.. I just don't want to listen. :(

  6. These are stunning. Like you I like transfer ware in all colors, but this green is one of my favorites. I think the transfer ware is so appealing because it mimics toile. I'm so happy I've found your blog. I can tell I'm going to be camping out here frequently! ~ Sarah

  7. I, too, love transferware but prefer the blue until I see the lovely green like yours -- would make great Christmas or St. Pat's dishes! (And be good the rest of the year as well)

  8. The platter is gorgeous, Carolyn, and I think it might be the same pattern that I fell in love with when going to tea in July...it was at an antique shop near by, and as much as I loved it, I didn't buy it because it was just so expensive. Green is the foundation color in my home...every room is rooted in soft greens, and toile is also one of my favorite patterns...so yes, I"m green eyed envious!

    God bless,
    Mary

  9. Hi Carolyn,

Your green china looks beautiful. I especially like the jugs. They will look lovely with flowers in it!

You asked me about Remembrance day in Holland. We don't remember our fallen on the 11th of November, but on the 4th of May. Since we haven't fought in the first world war (we were neutral) the 11th of November has less meaning to our country. We remember on the 4th of May, because it is the day before Holland was liberated by the Allied Forces in the second world war. Once every five years the 5th of May is a holiday and all kind of events are organised in Holland. A lot of people (we do) put our flags outside and celebrate! 2010 is on of those years. The children do indeed still look after the graves. They are very well taken care of (loved) and situated in the most beautiful places.

We do celebrate two days of christmas and although these two days are always very busy I do look forward to them!

    Have a wonderful day today!

    Lieve groet,

    Madelief

  12. I am green with envy!
    All so pretty!
And green is one of those colors that can be used anywhere, and all shades of green are acceptable mixed together because that is what our eye is used to seeing in nature.
    When in doubt, GO GREEN!

Enjoy your green treasures! I've enjoyed looking at (and longing for) them!
    All the best,
    Eileen

  21. Hi Carolyn,
Well I'm trying not to covet your transferware (in all it's colors), but it's getting a little harder.lol The toile quilt and pillow are so lovely. I have a thing for greens, and have it all over the house in different shades. Not as much as I used to, but still quite a bit.
    Hugs,
    June

  22. Hi Carolyn, in your Island there´s a woman who has a great taste and an artful way of arranging her goodies, do you know her?
Como to visit me, I miss you.

  23. I'm loving your green transferware too. I have it in every color but not green. What I love about the color green it that it's almost neutral and goes with anything.

  24. Carolyn, I don't belive I have even seen green transfer ware. How lovely. Your quilt, I have the same quilt but on the other side it is patchwork roses. I bought it for the "other side" but just this week was using the green side on my wicker chair.
Thank you for showing us more of your treasures.

  25. Hi Carolyn,
I am green with envy! :-) Love transferware and toile too especially anything in green, red or black. I love, love, love your platter. I'm sad to say, however, that I only own one, little, tiny, petite creamer in a green leaf pattern. Keeping my eyes open for somemore. Thank you so much for sharing. Hope you are having a wonderful day.

    Hugs and Kisses,

    ♥Ana
