Dish Fluffing

Hello! Come on in . The weather was cool and damp the last couple of days so I start to move back indoors more I always seem to want to make changes indoors. I guess you could call it my fall fluffing. So yesterday, I decided to take my white dishes out of this cupboard in our porch and display some of my blue and white collection.

This chamber set was in a bedroom upstairs but I thought it might look good on this cupboard. This old chamber set belonged to my grandparents-it was a wedding gift to them more then a 100 years ago.

The shoe and little covered jar were my Mom's. My mother grew up in Holland and came to Prince Edward Island as a war bride. She is 85 years old now and I still enjoy my daily visits with her.

The teapot was a gift from my husband. It came from our local hospital giftshop where they often have very pretty dishes.

The little childrens teacups came from England last year.

This teaset also was my Mom's.

Oh! my pretty soup tureen from a' charity' shop in England.

These also belonged to my sweet mama.

The cups and saucers I found in an antique mall in Maine. They match the teapot very well I think.

So now that little project is done but what to do with my white dishes-oh well that will be another story!
We had a heavy white frost last night-I am hoping it wasn't a killing frost. We did cover our annuals but it was cold!

The sun is shining now so it looks like we can work on painting the house again today.I am looking forward to getting that job done.

Hope you have a good day!

Carolyn

Carolyn;

Heehee.. yes dish fluffing it is!! What is it when we collect items of our liking and join thus collections by intermingling per the holidays or changing seasons.

The Delft pottery has this 'clean' line that blends with just about anything that surrounds it. This is one very lovely collection and the desire to collect this lovely pottery must stem from the deep roots your family has and the open ways the Netherlands conducted themselves as a family and in their business lives. (yep, I try to collect this pottery too!)

So thank you for sharing this and the tureen is my fav by the way!

I need to fluff soon here!!

I love blue and white as well -- and yours is really a great collection -- so many pretty pieces!

I've never thought of calling it "dish fluffing" but I love that name!

Carolyn, Your dishes are so beautiful! I need to change my hutch around some also. I normally don't ask people to stop by my blog because life is busy, but you should stop by today if you have time and see the teapot I posted, it is just so pretty. I may have to treat myself to a new teapot soon.
Have a wonderful day,

Ginger

Ohh my, you had a heavy white frost, on White Wednesday. Very glad you covered your annuals though. And I hope they survived.

And another Oh my! You have had some blog pics disappear too! -sighhhh- It seemed to have happened after I very recently switched to a Stretch Minima Template... In order to tweek my pics, to show in a larrrrrge size. So I wonder if it has something to do with this?

Oh well, I'm not switching back right now. I'm having fun with the larrrrrrrrrrge pics showing. Have you ever wanted to do this? If so, I can point you to a lovely blog, whose owner gives detailed instructions on "the how" of it. If so please, write me at ....

and I'll give you the link to her blog. :-)

Oh how I love those blue and white dishes. I've been on the hunt for some myself lately - auctions, estate sales, yardsales - but nothing. I'm redoing a hutch in my living room with blue/white and I just love how it's all turning out. Of course I would give a kidney to have your beautiful collection! LOL!

Hi Carolyn,

You did a great job with your 'fall fluffing'. You have some beautiful blue China. I recognised the Delft ware! The fact that your mother took it with her from Holland makes it extra special.

Good luck with painting the house!

Have a lovely day! Kind regards, Madelief

You have a beautiful Delft blue collection. It could be about antique. Lovely that some of it even was from your grandparents. I love how you display your treasures. Have a nice day

It seems a lot of people are in the "fall fluffing" period. I suppose it's the cooler air. I know it makes the dogs frisky! Your things are so beautiful.

Your 'blues' are breathtaking. The Delft is particularly awesome ... we got to see the Delft Master artists paint when we were in Holland. Your English & German pieces are equally as beautiful. Have a lovely weekend. TTFN ~Marydon
