Some of the Things I Love about Summer!

I love windows open and curtains blowing gently in the breeze.

I love laundry drying on the line outdoors.

Watching the birds building their nests.

Watching the baby robins grow.

I love hammocks.

Eating breakfast in our terrace.

having our umbella's up,

our garden benches placed around the garden.

having tea in the garden,

an abundance of flowers.

sleeping in our little garden cottage.

having a picnic,

going to different summer events ,

watching our son play soccer,

wearing sandels or flip flops,

going to the beach,

eating out at summer places,

like tearooms,

we have so many beautiful beaches here on the Island!

I love sun sets,

going for little drives to small towns or villages,

more tea time,

grandchildren coming to visit,

going for long walks on the beach-did I mention that already?

sailboats,

all our grandchildren coming=hearing their giggles!

hearing the waves lapping on the shore,

t

touring days-this is Dalvey-by-the-sea as seen in Anne of Green Gables.

pretty linens blowing in the breeze,

having garden tours,

more beautiful sunsets,

going to the beach,

wearing summer dresses and hats, am I old fahioned or what?

and of course I love our garden! What do you love about summer, or did I lose you way back at the beach?

I hope you all have a good weekend!

It sounds like you have the perfect setting to enjoy summer. Your pictures are lovely. Down here in the south we have some slightly different aspects to summer--like intense heat and humidity. But we do love the mountains and the beaches not too far away! Have a good weekend.

This is my favorite post of yours, ever, ever, ever. So BEAUTIFUL! Every single detail. Especially, your picture standing by your clematis plant in your sweet dress and hat. And the beachy pics. And the laundry pics. And the tea in the garden pics! Can I come and visit you, please???

I love all of the above! Your attention to detail and excellant photography makes everything look so beautiful.;D

Oh my goodness! Carolyn, you are one blessed Lady.
This was such a wonderful post about some of the things you love about Summer. I really enjoyed this one.

I've only been to the sea a few times, but listening to the waves is beyond words to me. It's so peaceful and relaxing that it's a tonic. I would delight in spending more time walking on the beach and looking out toward the ocean.

What a cute bunch of Grandchildren you have. I can imagine the energy they have when all together and squealing with joy. We have 3 and another one in the making to be born in November.

Your pictures are lovely. Everything looks beautiful. I would love to tour your Gardens. Like heaven on Earth.

Summer favorites are...the Fourth of July celebrations, home-made ice cream, knowing that it's not going to snow for a while, spending time with family, the Kansas sunsets.

Just lovely - my favorite thing about the summer - the kids are out of school!

Everything you said. I especially love to walk on the beach at sunset. I love the smell of line dried clothes and linens. What I hate is the humidity here on the Gulf Coast.

Hi Sweet Bay,
Those garden pics were last summer's shots. We still have tulips blooming and the lilacs are just coming out.
Sorry I should have mentioned that.
Take care,
Carolyn

Hi Carolyn,
What a beautiful post today! I love all the same things as you do; grandchildren, the beach, wildlife, and clothes flapping in the breeze.
But those baby robins in the nest on the top of your birdhouse says it all! BTW, I have an award for you on my blog today, if you would like to come and pick it up! Thank you for sharing your lovely photos and have a really nice day.

Blessings,
Sandi

Now Carolyn, you deserve your own show on HGTV. Your own magazine (I would SO subscribe)! If I were to hang my laundry out to dry, it would NOT look like that! And those baby robbins - how adorable???

OH~~~ What a nice post! Curtains blowing is one of my favorite things too, and watching the birds, and my grandchildern, and gardern tours ( that I go on not have) Well just about everything you said here I love as well. I hope to put up a clothes line this years, but I have lots of shade trees so I'm not sure where it would go.
God Bless and thank-you for the beautiful post.

All such wonderful pictures. We had a robin nest this year. I loved watching them. She had 3 or 4 babies. I would sit on the back porch and watch the mother and father feed them. Boy did they eat alot. They flew away from the nest a few weeks ago, but I see them in my yard. I never knew that the babies stayed so long with the parents. They are still feeding them.

Almost like us humans. HA! HA!

I want to crawl inside your photos and just be still for a time. May I? They are so gorgeous. Love the dresses on the clothes line. I'd blow that up to 16x20 and hang it in my room. GORGEOUS!!

What a great post. I love all the things you named. There are so many things about summer to love. 4th of July, roasting hotdogs out on a fire, fireflies, dragonflies, lady bugs, butterflies, the stars at night, walking in the grass barefoot, the smell of flowers on the night breeze blowing into my window, the birds singing in the morning, swimming, gardening . . .

The summer breeze blwoing through the bedroom window with the summer symphonies of crickets etc lulling me to sleep.
When you decide to let me live in your shed for the summer let me know. Now I don't have to bring the hammock either.

This one so refreshing to me, I may as well leave it open in another tab on the computer, and regularly get the 'aaahhhhh ... I can exhale and relax here'.

You are an absolute blessing! Thank you for your posts.

I just realized WHERE you live! I thought you were in Aiken , SC ~~~
We were up in PEI before the bridge was built when our 4 sons were young. We have a 5th, our Emma , who would love to see Anne's island!
I remember the red dirt, the beach that faced north, and the wonderful fun restaurants. Plus the farmstands at the mailboxes. Is it that warm there now in June? I imagine not , but it is coming. Summer and its lazy days and beauty will arrive.

You are a blessing to the soul.

What beautiful pictures, Carolyn. Yes, you are old fashioned, and please don't change for anything! I love the ocean, the next best thing is going to the river in the summer and now I live just one block from the river and I go there almost every day. There is something so soothing and peaceful about water. My dearest wish is to go to PEI one day, maybe next summer! And if I do I will stop by your place for a garden tour. Thank you for the glimpse into your blessed life, Hugs, ~Cindy S~

Ever since reading Anne of Green Gables as a little girl I have always wanted to visit Prince Edward island. These pictures are not making it any easier to wait. Hopefully in a few years when my daugther is a little odler we can come for a visit and see some of these beautiful sights. My daughters name is Evangeline by the way, even more reason to bring her along.
