I bought this old redwork embroidery apron several years ago . I love the delicate hand work that has gone into this apron and the cute little pictures of children. I think some people collect redwork so probably some of you know a lot more about this type of embroidery than I do. I can only imagine nimble fingers working on this after their chores were all done.
You might think I am still at the toile party(it was a great party) but I thought some red and white toiles would set of the apron nicely so I took a few pictures for you.
Hope you enjoy!
Carolyn

I have embroidered crazy quilts, etc. It is sort of tedious, but you "lose" yourself in the creative urge to finish. It is a meditative process. I have not done the red work, but long admired it.

How pretty! I used to do embroidery a long time ago. I just don't have time anymore.
Have a good Wednesday night. :)
Carolyn, for some reason, I don't see the pic of the redwork apron you're talking about! =( Did it delete by chance accidentally? I'll check back in with you later to see if you get it loaded back on. ~CC Catherine ;)
Hi Catherine,
I am sorry-the photos are on here.Occasionally this seems to happen to some people but I think it is a blogger.com problem that I can't fix.Does anyone else have this problem?

Carolyn...I love this little redwork apron! And you know what else I love? I love the way you match things up so prettily. Your photos just make me relax and smile. Every single photo goes great with a cup of tea in my morning. I really appreciate your lovely blog and how generous you are in sharing your life!
Lovely apron - I find redwork relaxing - maybe the maker of your apron did too. After a long day maybe she sat in the garden or by her fire stitching. Nice that someone has it who will appreciate her hard work.
Very pretty!
I didn't even know what toile is. Now I do.
oh, i can't see the pics...
i know it is so pretty
So nice the old apron is, lovely!
I used to do a lot of embroidery
before I had the kids...it was very nice to do, relaxing.
I just do not have any time for it anymore, but I miss it!
So beautiful pictures you are sharing with us.
Hugs,
Anette
Just wanted to let you know that I can see your pictures (and the redwork is wonderful) when I used Firefox but not when I use AOL's browser. This is has never happened to me before.
